Sam Fender is pleased to share the video for his new single, 'Saturday.' Directed by James Slater in London, the video features a starring role by Matt King (Super Hans in Peep Show). 'Saturday' sits at the heart of his debut album Hypersonic Missiles, an ode to the misery of an excruciatingly slow working week, a bank account that remains resolutely empty, a landlord not returning calls on a problematic flat, and the minor solace of the weekend forever just out of reach. It's a typically sobering, wholly relatable lyrical lament that Sam has quickly become renowned for telling. Sam describes 'Saturday' as 'An anthem for the everyman about living for the weekend and sticking two fingers up to zero hours contracts'

Steve 'n' Seagulls Banjo Player Releases New Music

Matias Haavisto is a singer-songwriter also known as Herman, the banjo player in Steve'n'Seagulls - the band that went viral after releasing their bluegrassy version of AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' on YouTube. Matias and the Canyons is a four-piece band that was born in spring 2019 when Matias (vocals, banjo, guitar), Jarkko (Guitar), Luis (Bass) and Janne (Drums) entered a rehearsal room and started playing Haavisto's new songs. It was the first time they ever played together, but the band had the sound Matias was looking for right from the beginning.

Rufus Wainwright to Release Limited Edition EP on Record Store Day

Rufus Wainwright is set to release an A/B side 7' EP, Come A Little Bit Closer, on November 29, Record Store Day Black Friday. Smoke Fairies just played a sell-out single launch at The Social in association with Rough Trade to celebrate the release of a limited edition 7”. The show and single sold out three weeks prior to release and landed at #3 in the UK Vinyl Singles chart, surrounded by Coldplay, Queen and Kate Bush. They will play additional UK dates (below) in February just after the release of Darkness Brings The Wonders Home.  The ladies will also appear on John Kennedy Radio X with an interview and live session on January 28th.
