The MITTEN Lab (A Michigan Incubator for Theatre Talent Emerging Now), led by co-founders Katherine M. Carter and Rachel Sussman, has announced partnerships with Michigan theater companies Parallel 45 Theatre in Traverse City and Theatre Nova in Ann Arbor.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) presented the Women of Note concert series, celebrating female, queer and trans artists who are changing the landscape of musical theatre, on Monday, August 1 at The Duke on 42nd Street. Featuring dynamic sounds and incredible performers, this one-night-only concert event showcased even more artists than last year in two back-to-back performances. In addition to planning an Off-Broadway series at the Horton Grand Theatre, SDMT is cultivating two, site-specific works; LAST NIGHT IN TOWN - a new musical based on the discography of Ben Folds, and HALL PASS - an immersive musical set and performed in a high school. Both musicals were featured in New York University's Forum on Site-Specific Performance in 2015. LAST NIGHT IN TOWN has another San Diego connection: one of the show's creators, Amy Cordileone, grew up in San Diego and worked locally for many years before moving to New York City.

Just yesterday, the New York Musical Festival hosted a special preview of some of this year's shows, including: Children of Salt, Eh Dah? - Questions For My Father, Forest Boy, Icon, Nickel Mines, The First Church of Mary the Repentant Prostitute's Fifth Annual Benefit Concert, Revival, and Pot Luck Dinner; The Last Word, and Tink!

WP Theater (formerly known as Women's Project Theater) has announced its 2016-17 Season at the McGinn/Cazale Theater (2162 Broadway, at 76th Street), the artists for the 2016-2018 WP Lab and the new Domestic Partner residency initiative.

The Queer Composers For Orlando Concert will be hosted at Midtown Manhattan's Loft227 tonight, July 14th, in one of the largest gatherings of contemporary Musical Theater composers for a very special evening.

CANDY BUCKLEY (Cabaret, After the Fall, Thoroughly Modern Millie), THEO STOCKMAN (American Psycho, American Idiot, Hair), and BEN MOSS (Freedom Riders) will join the previously announced cast which includes JENNIFER DAMIANO, CIARA RENEE, MEGHANN FAHY, and KRISTA PIOPPI. The reading is directed by WHITNEY MOSERY (King Charles III, American Psycho).

The Araca Group and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater are proud to announce NEW SONGS NOW, an unplugged concert series of songs by ten innovative and dynamic songwriters whose work straddles the music and theater genres.
