Maplewood, NJ is a Rockwell-esque little nook where theatre people with families hideaway beneath the oak trees. Three years ago, when baby #2 made his appearance, my husband and I took a deep breath and plunged our lives, head first, into this quaint suburban haven. (Full disclosure, I cried in my cross-over vehicle as we waved goodbye to a decade of memories in our Upper West Side apartment).

Gerard McCarthy (Bruce) and Oliver Wilson (Christopher) join the previously announced, Robert Bathurst (Robert), to complete the cast of Blue/Orange. The second show in Theatre Royal Brighton Productions inaugural season, directed by Christopher Luscombe, Joe Penhall's Blue/Orange will tour nationally from 13 September 2012, before transferring to the West End. Theatre East presents "Normalcy" by Bennett Windheim, Off Broadway at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, 416 West 42nd Street, NYC. Benard Cummings directs the new play. This fall, the New York International Fringe Festival hit Unspeakable - described as 'a dramatic fantasia inspired by the life of comedic icon Richard Pryor' - will come to Chicago on the Royal George Theatre Main Stage, 1641 N. Halsted, in a limited eight-week engagement beginning Tuesday, October 2, 2012. The official opening night performance is Monday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m.

The original Broadway production of Pippin was an instant Broadway sensation and ran for over 1,900 performances. It won 5 Tony Awards and and 4 Drama Desk Awards in the early 1970s.

Working Theater presents the Off-Broadway production of The Best of TheaterWorks!: Stories from the 99%. The production will feature six of the best short plays to come out of Working Theater's TheaterWorks! program. The 10-year old program teaches working men and women (bus drivers, doormen, 911 operators, DMV workers etc.) to write and perform their own short plays about their experiences at work. The classes end with a stage reading style performance where the students are teamed with professional actors and directors. This production however will be fully realized by a professional cast and crew.

The Orange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA), a nationally recognized arts school that provides bright and talented students with a creative and challenging educational environment, has joined forces with Tony Award-winning Broadway producers (Memphis, Hair, Lombardi, Magic/Bird, Paradise Found) Tim and Pamela Kashani of Apples and Oranges Arts for Bridge to Broadway 2012 at the school's 500-seat Margaret A. Webb Theatre this summer.
