Acclaimed singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata, 'the troubadour of heartbreak', will launch a tour in support of her latest EP, Heavyweight. Digitally released in November of 2012, the Heavyweight EP is now available in stores. Yamagata's set on the Dealbreaker Heart Tour will be stripped down and intimate, and will showcase her stunning songwriting and the raw emotional power of her songs. Yamagata recently returned from a successful string of SOLD OUT shows in Southeast Asia, with stops in Seoul, Korea, Bangkok, Thailand and Singapore, Singapore.

Artistic Director Michael Bloom announces the lineup for the 98th consecutive season of Cleveland Play House, the third in its new state-of-the-art theatres at PlayhouseSquare in downtown Cleveland. Two world premieres and great American music highlight the eclectic and contemporary 2013-14 Season. 'Nowhere else will patrons get such a wide variety of entertainment and at such a high level of quality,' reflects Bloom.

Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower is performing a folk rock concert for families on Sunday, April 21 at 2:00 pm at The Jewish Museum. Mitchell, a singer and guitarist known for reinterpreting classic folk songs for children and their parents, will be joined by her husband, singer/guitarist Daniel Littleton, and their eleven year old daughter Storey. Concert attendees can enjoy cherished folk classics and soulful originals from the albums Catch the Moon and Blue Clouds.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 2013/14 Season Announced

Artistic Director Mark Clements announced Milwaukee Repertory Theater's 2013/14 Season today. The season will present an epic slate of personalities and productions on the Quadracci Powerhouse stage - the monumental, moving and Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime will give audiences a glimpse at the early 20th century life of three distinct groups of people, while the side-splitting comedy, Noises Off, peeks behind the curtain at a group of struggling actors. The tumultuous final days of Judy Garland will unfold in End of the Rainbow, a single virtuoso artist will lead a blazing, contemporary retelling of a Homer classic in An Iliad, and the dynamic birth of Superman will be explored with The History of Invulnerability, forever changing the way we look at superheroes.

LONESOME TRAVELER Returns to Rubicon Theatre, 4/24-5/19

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 15th Anniversary Season with the return of Lonesome Traveler, a musical event that takes audiences on a journey down the rivers and streams of American Folk Music -- from the hills of Appalachia to the nightclubs of San Francisco and New York; from the 1920s to the 1960s. Written and directed by Rubicon's Artistic Director James O'Neil, with Musical Direction by Trevor Wheetman, Lonesome Traveler begins April 24 and continues through May 19 at Rubicon Theatre in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District. Presented in the style of a concert, Lonesome Traveler is performed by nine artists who create musical portraits inspired by folk immortals such as Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, The Carter Family, Lead Belly, Cisco Houston, The Almanac Singers, The Weavers, The Kingston Trio, Peter Paul & Mary and others whose music and influence changed American music - and America itself-forever.

The show confirms the folk tradition of Woody is alive and well and Here Comes the Kids celebrates the legacy of Guthrie's father in a manner to make any parent proud. The evening of folk entertainment is on Saturday, April 6 beginning at 8:00 p.m. in the Ikeda Theater.

Category 7 in association with La Salle Academy and Nativity Mission announces the cast and creative team for Stand-Up Tragedy, Bill Cain's searing 1991 play about a Lower East Side middle school, where an idealistic young teacher sets out to save one of his students from an abusive family and the streets. Directed by Nicholas Minas, performances begin at Nativity Church (44 2nd Avenue - between 2nd & 3rd Streets) on Saturday, April 12, 2013 and will continue through May 4.
