Some of Hollywood's biggest stars -- including Mary Tyler Moore, Hugh Jackman, Jay Leno, Amy Poehler and Carol Burnett -- will celebrate the birthday of one of the world's most beloved entertainers in 'Betty White's 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America's Golden Girl' on Monday, January 16 (8-9:30 p.m. ET) on NBC. White's 'Hot in Cleveland' co-stars Valerie Bertinelli, Wendy Mallick and Jane Leeves, along with her 'Mary Tyler Moore' co-stars Ed Asner, Valerie Harper and Gavin MacLeod, will also be on hand to deliver birthday wishes, as will Joel McHale, William Shatner and many more. Immediately following the birthday special will be a sneak preview of the outrageously funny hidden-camera series 'Betty White's Off Their Rockers,' airing from 9:30-10 p.m. ET.

After CONTACT (a show that featured all pre-recorded music) controversially took home the 2000 Tony Award for Best Musical, the 'Best Special Theatrical Event' category was created to include shows that fit neither the description of a play nor a musical. After Broadway legend Liza Minnelli won the Special Event Tony in 2009, the category was officially retired, allowing shows that qualified to be nominated in other categories.
William Shatner Headed to Broadway in One-Man Show

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that William Shatner is headed to Broadway in early 2012 with a 2-3 week engagement of SHATNER'S WORD: WE JUST LIVE IN IT which will play for 2-3 weeks at the Music Box Theater on Broadway. The show will be a temporary booking at the theatre, which is currently home to PRIVATE LIVES, which just moved up its closing to December 31.
