Nominees for the 2012 LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards were announced Tuesday evening at the Renberg Theatre inside the Gay and Lesbian Center in Los Angeles. Full of biting wit and hilarious parodies of various popular Broadway shows--and the famous actors that star in them--Musical Theatre West's cabaret-style send-up FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: GREATEST HITS, VOLUME 2 plays its final, laugh-filled set of performances this weekend ending April 29 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach.

Parody must have bite to grab hold of an audience. Since its inception, the Forbidden Broadway series has had the incisors of a shark and the claws of a lion, and theatre folk just clammer to have their gods and divas dished and devoured.

Musical Theatre West has announced the opening of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY: GREATEST HITS, VOLUME 2; previewing April 13th, with opening night April 14th and running for an additional 12 performances through April 29, 2012.

On Wednesday, May 2 at 3:30pm, Robert Sirota's holy ghosts will have its world premiere, performed by Victoria Sirota on the Appleton pipe organ in The Andre Mertens Galleries for Musical Instruments, North Balcony at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (1000 Fifth Avenue, NYC). Sirota's new piece is commissioned by the department of Musical Instruments at The Metropolitan Museum, in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the installation of the historic Appleton pipe organ at the Museum.
