American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) has announced its inaugural Conservatory Awards, which will annually recognize and honor A.C.T.'s award-winning actor training program's outstanding alumni and pay tribute to donors who have provided significant support to the M.F.A. Scholarship Fund.

The Macaroons will perform three Hanukkah concerts for families at The Jewish Museum on Sunday, December 25 at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm.

Viewers from across the country will get a preview of the eagerly anticipated new Broadway musical Newsies during the 85th Anniversary Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Newsies will take to the streets to perform the show-stopping tap number 'King of New York' live in Herald Square during the first hour of the television broadcast, beginning at 9AM Eastern on NBC.

The Jewish Museum will present a fun-filled, multi-generational family day celebrating the work of award-winning author and illustrator Ezra Jack Keats on Sunday, November 13 from 12 noon to 4 pm.

The first Broadway Show my parents ever took me to see was Peter Pan. I remember this fluttery feeling in my stomach as the orchestra started to play the overture, and a few years later I was surprised to experience that same feeling as I waited off stage to make my entrance during a summer camp production of 'Charlotte's Web' (I played the Narrator). Of course I soon grew up, got training and also got critical and even though I still love performing in and attending shows, it's rare that I feel the butterflies. But last week, at Paper Mill Playhouse's production of Newsie's the Musical, I could feel them....and they were fluttering around inside my seven-year-old daughter's tummy as she sat beside me!

Hundreds of Newsies fans (affectionately known as Fansies) attended the special Newsies Fan Day reception, talk-back and performance on Sunday, October 2nd at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ. The event sold out, weeks in advance, but hundreds of lucky fans had their childhood dreams come true. Along with the entire stage cast, members of the original movie cast and creative team participated in the event including: Gabriel Damon (Spot Conlon), Luke Edwards (Les Jacobs), Shon Greenblatt (Oscar Delancy), Arvie Lowe Jr. (Boots), David Moscow (Davey), David Sheinkoph (Morris Delancy), David Sidoni (Pie Eater), Kevin Stey (Swifty), David Moscow (Davey), Jack Feldman (Librettist), Ms Noni White (Screenwriter), Jeff Calhoun (Stage Director) and the film's director and choreographer Mr. Kenny Ortega.

According tot he NJ.com, nine theatre-goers were asked to leave during intermission of Paper Mill Playhouse's NEWSIES last week due to 'unruly behavior.' Theatre representative Shayne Miller commented on the incident: 'There was an altercation, something about poking another patron in the back. They were being rowdy and loud, talking on their cell phones in the theater.'

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee- Producing Artistic Director, Todd Schmidt-Managing Director) will host a Newsies Fan Day at the Millburn theater on Sunday, October 2nd. Newsies Fan Day is an opportunity for Newsies fans nationwide to celebrate this cult phenomenon. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a Newsies Fan Reception at 5pm in the Renee Foosaner Art Gallery on the campus of Paper Mill Playhouse. At 6:00pm, there will be a Newsies Cast Talk-Back where both the stage cast and members of the film cast will discuss Newsies. The Newsies Fan Package costs $25 and includes: the Newsies Fan Reception, Newsies Cast Talk-Back and a Newsies gift. To participate in Newsies Fan Day, you must hold a ticket to the Newsies fan performance at 7:00pm on Sunday, October 2nd, sold separately. Radio Disney will be on campus to join in the festivities.

Set in New York City at the turn of the century, the musical is the tale of newsie Jack Kelly, who dreams of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when Pulitzer and Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsies' expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies his army of newsies to strike. Paper Mill Playhouse's production of a new Disney stage musical, Newsies, will officially open tonight. Revolutionary newsie Jack Kelly will be portrayed by Jeremy Jordan of Broadway's West Side Story and Rock of Ages. Tony® Award nominee John Dossett will play newspaper giant Joseph Pulitzer.

The Jewish Museum launches its fall 2011 season of family programs in September with a lively array of concerts, art workshops, music classes, film days, and more.

The Jewish Museum will present Dirty Socks Music Romps, a weekly music class for toddlers on ten Tuesdays from September 20 through November 22, 2011.

The Jewish Museum will present Gustafer Yellowgold, a concert for families featuring illustrator/songwriter Morgan Taylor, on Sunday, October 16 at 2 pm.
