Greta Gerwig Replaces Maggie Gyllenhaal in MCC Theater's THE VILLAGE BIKE

MCC THEATER has announced that indie film star Greta Gerwig will now lead the cast of the American premiere of Penelope Skinner's celebrated play The Village Bike, the final production of MCC's 2013-14 Main Stage season. The Village Bike will be directed by Sam Gold, who recently directed the much-raved new musical Fun Home. It will premiere at The Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) beginning May 22, 2014 with an official opening on June 10, 2014.

Signature Theatre Extends APPROPRIATE Through 4/13

Signature Theatre has announced a one week extension for the New York premiere of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' APPROPRIATE, directed by Liesl Tommy. APPROPRIATE, which opened March 16, will now play through April 13 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The production's initial run is sold out.

All the Way, the new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, starring BREAKING BAD's Bryan Cranston, begins previews on Broadway today, Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Neil Simon Theatre. The production officially opens on Thursday, March 6, 2014 for a strictly limited engagement. The play is directed by Bill Rauch, Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where All the Way began its theatrical life.

Signature Theatre has announced casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the New York premiere of APPROPRIATE, by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and directed by Liesl Tommy. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The producers of All the Way, the new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan (The Kentucky Cycle), havea announced that The Neil Simon Theatre Box Office (250 West 52nd Street) will open on Monday, January 20th (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) at 10:00 a.m. and will offer a special advance student price for one day only. Unlike other regular student rush offers, which limit purchases for day-of only, the producers are offering students with a valid ID the chance to purchase tickets at $37 for all performances through April 6, 2014. (1 ticket per valid student ID; rear mezz locations; some blackout dates may apply).

Keegan Allen, James Badge Dale, playwright/actor John Pollono, and James Ransonestar in the production directed by longtime MCC collaborator Jo Bonney (MCC's The Break of Noon, Some Girl(s), Fat Pig). Judith Light Joins MCC's Board of Directors

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) just announced that two-time Tony Award winner Judith Light (The Assembled Parties, Other Desert Cities) has been elected to the MCC Board of Directorseffective immediately. Ms. Light began her relationship with MCC in 1999 with a universally-acclaimed performance in Margaret Edson's Wit, and most recently in March 2013 was the honoree at MCC's annual Miscast gala celebrating her illustrious screen and stage career; her appearances in MCC productions, which in addition to Wit includes 2005's Colder Than Here; and her impassioned advocacy of several causes, most especially Arts in Education.

Signature Theatre has announced a third and final one week extension for the World Premiere of Horton Foote's THEOLD FRIENDS, directed by Michael Wilson. The production will now play its final performance on Sunday, October 20. THE OLD FRIENDS opened to critical acclaim on September 12 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Tickets during the extension weeks are $75 each.
