Nicolas Dromard to Return to MARY POPPINS as 'Bert' 1/9

After playing the role of Bert for over two years on the North American tour of MARY POPPINS, with a stint on Broadway in Summer 2010, NICOLAS DROMARD will return to the New Amsterdam Theatre, beginning performances on Wednesday, January 9. Tony Award nominee GAVIN LEE played his final performance before taking a leave of absence on Friday, January 4, 2013. He departs to join the West End production of Top Hat through Summer 2013.

In-demand conductor Christoph Eschenbach returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in its first three performances of the new year, tonight and Saturday, January 4 and 5, at 8 pm, and Sunday, January 6, at 2 pm. On the program is the U.S. premiere of Tan Dun's percussion concerto The Tears of Nature, featuring Martin Grubinger in his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut. Also on the program is Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, which was recorded by the LA Phil, with Zubin Mehta conducting, for Decca Records.

Walt Disney Animation Studios announced today the debut of the animated adventure film WRECK-IT-RALPH. Disney will have an early release of the HD Digital and HD Digital 3D on February 12, followed by the 4-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack, 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, SD Digital and On-Demand release on March 5.

Rehearsals begin this week for the world premiere of Isaac's Eye by Lucas Hnath, directed by Linsay Firman. Isaac's Eye, an Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Project for New Plays on Science and Technology presentation, is the tale of an emotionally immature, 25-year-old Isaac Newton, his drive to become a fellow of The Royal Society and the great scientist Robert Hooke who, in Mr. Hnath's play, is the nemesis standing in his way. Iaaac's Eye begins previews Wednesday, January 30, at 7:00pm for an opening on Saturday, February 9, at 7:00p.m at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, 549 West 52nd Street.

Tony Award-winning Idina Menzel is in a class of performers who simply defy description. She has an extraordinary quality that must be experienced up close and personal, for it's not only the tremendously dynamic voice that impresses but a wildly disarming charisma that holds you spellbound. On New Year's Eve her 7:00 pm show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall lasted about 90 minutes, but seemed to fly by in a flash.
