The Los Angeles Master Chorale captures the shared human experience with a pairing of Brahms' sublime Ein Deutsches Requiem and the West Coast premiere of The World in Flower, Peter Lieberson's lyrical and moving message of tolerance written in memory of his wife and muse, famed mezzo-soprano Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, with whom the Chorale performed Adam's El Niño in Los Angeles and New York.

Internationally-acclaimed conductor Vassily Sinaisky returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall to lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic in three evening performances, tonight through Saturday, January 10 - 12, at 8 pm. The program includes Liadov's Eight Russian Folk Songs, Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 2 and Holst's The Planets, which has served as great inspiration for many composers of science fiction and fantasy film scores. Leonidas Kavakos, The Strad's "violinist of violinists," plays Prokofiev's concerto, which was the composer's last Western commission.

Ludovic Morlot Leads LA Phil and Emanuel Ax in Mozart and Beethoven, 1/24-26

Ludovic Morlot, music director of the Seattle Symphony, returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall on Thursday, January 24, at 8:00PM, Friday, January 25, at 11:00AM and Saturday, January 26, at 8:00 PM to conduct the Los Angeles Philharmonic in Beethoven's 5th Symphony. The program also features pianist Emanuel Ax performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 25, K. 503.

Gotham Arts Exchange Presents WORKING WOMEN at The Joyce, 1/30-2/3

WORKING WOMEN, a program of work by female choreographers including Kate Weare, Camille A. Brown, Carolyn Dorfman, and Monica Bill Barnes, comes to The Joyce for a four performance run of new works and audience favorites from January 30 - February 3, 2013. Performances are on Wednesday at 7:30pm; Friday at 8pm; Sunday at 2pm and 7:30pm. The Friday performance will be followed by a Dance Chat. Tickets are $10-39 and are available at www.joyce.org.

Soundtrack for Disney XD's TRON: UPRISING Now Available

Walt Disney Records released the soundtrack today for TRON: Uprising, the Disney XD animated television series inspired by the films TRON (1982) and TRON: Legacy (2010). The TRON: Uprising soundtrack features the original score from the series composed by Joseph Trapanese and is available in digital format and also via Amazon's Disc on Demand. In addition to the 16 tracks provided by Trapanese, the TRON: Uprising soundtrack also includes remixes from 3OH!3 and J.T. ('Lightbike Battle'), Opiuo, David Hiller , and a brand new track from Hollywood Records' rising EDM star, 16-year-old Cole Plante , entitled 'Rezolution.' A clips-based music video will debut later this month.

Internationally acclaimed Grammy Award-winning conductor Helmuth Rilling, recipient of the 2011 Herbert von Karajan Music Prize, makes his 13th appearance with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra to guest conduct two performances of Mozart's sublime Requiem in D minor, K. 626, featuring soprano Stacey Tappan, alto Callista Hoffman, tenor Nicholas Phan, bass Michael Dean and the acclaimed USC Thornton Chamber Singers, under the direction of Jo Michael Scheibe, on Saturday, January 26, 8 pm, at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, and Sunday, January 27, 2013, 7 pm, at UCLA's Royce Hall. The all-Mozart program, which celebrates the legendary composer's 257th birthday, opens with his majestic Symphony No. 39 in E-flat major, K. 543.

The New York Times is reporting that MARY POPPINS will close on Broadway on March 3, 2013 to make way for renovations , followed by its next tenant 'A musical adaptation of the company's 1992 animated film "Aladdin," according to two Broadway theater executives. The two executives spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss production plans that remain confidential. A Disney spokesman did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment on Monday.'
