Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce the new live show BRAIN CANDY LIVE!, starringAdam Savage, editor-in-chief of Tested.com and former co-host of the Emmy-nominated Discovery series 'MythBusters,' and Michael Stevens, creator of award-winning YouTube Channel 'Vsauce', will debut at the Oriental Theatre (24 W Randolph) for one night only on Saturday, March 4 at 8 PM. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, October 28.

Chicago's historic Studebaker Theater will become the home of live opera with a contemporary adaptation of Henry Purcell's 1692 "The Fairy Queen," a reimagining of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" presented by Chicago Opera Theater (COT) beginning November 5.

Santa Barbara Symphony to Present Piano Masterpieces

The Santa Barbara Symphony, under the baton of Maestro Nir Kabaretti, will perform two of the world's most cherished piano masterworks with the help of German-born virtuoso Markus Groh at the Granada Theatre on November 19 and 20. Mr. Groh will join Symphony Principal Natasha Kislenko for Mozart's exquisite Concerto for Two Pianos before tackling Tchaikovsky's famed Piano Concerto No 1. Ms. Kislenko will be the featured soloist for Manuel de Falla's lush and arresting Nights in the Gardens of Spain to open both concerts. Performances will take place at 8 pm on Saturday, November 19, and at 3 pm on Sunday, November 20. Tickets are now available.

The Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs kick off their season by breathing new life into two of Shakespeare's classics. The Taming of the Shrew, under the direction of Kate Bergstrom ('18), runs October 20-23, 2016 and The Winter's Tale, directed by Mauricio Salgado ('18) runs November 3-6, 2016.

LA Opera's 2016/17 season will continue with the west coast premiere of The Source, opening on October 19. In this penetrating multimedia work, Brooklyn-based composer Ted Hearne, librettist Mark Doten, director Daniel Fish and production designer Jim Findlay dive into the media hysteria responsible for the many faces of Chelsea Manning, the U.S. Army private who infamously leaked hundreds of thousands of classified documents to WikiLeaks.
