Rehearsals start this week at The 5th Avenue Theatre for the sweeping new musical, Waterfall, featuring Laura Griffith (Broadway: Sweet Smell of Success, The Light in the Piazza), Thom Sesma (Broadway: The Times They are A-Changin', Man of La Mancha), J. Elaine Marcos (Broadway: Annie, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), and Thai pop superstar Bie Sukrit. This epic new Broadway-bound musical love story features a distinguished international creative team and a cast of 20. Seattle is the second of two locales where this unique and exciting musical is being developed after completing a popular and critically successful run at the Pasadena Playhouse in June. 

Molly Smith directs her 30th production as Artistic Director of Arena Stage with a gritty and relevant take on the Tony Award-winning musical Oliver!, blending the chaotic worlds of 19th-century Victorian London with 2015 London. Smith's new in-the-round staging infuses a modern edge to the classic musical about an innocent orphan thrown into the dark world of double-dealing thieves and conmen, highlighting the disparity between classes and dangerous life on London's streets today. Featuring a remarkable score including 'You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two,' 'Consider Yourself,' 'Where is Love?' and 'Food, Glorious Food,' Oliver! runs October 30, 2015-January 3, 2016 in the Fichandler Stage at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater.

WATERFALL, the epic new Broadway bound musical love story, which had its world premiere at The Pasadena Playhouse (Artistic Director, Sheldon Epps) on June 7, 2015, will play its final performance on Sunday, June 28. The production will next play Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre October 1-25, 2015.

Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire have created a beautiful glimpse of passionate love that develops amidst the turmoil of divergent cultures, east and west before WWII. Currently onstage at the Pasadena Playhouse, Waterfall is sumptuously breathtaking with an extraordinary director and ensemble.

Freedom's Song: Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War by Frank Wildhorn, Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy with music by Frank Wildhorn, adapted by Richard Hellesen and Mark Ramont, is directed by Jeff Calhoun and runs now through May 20, 2015 at at Ford's Theatre is located at 511 10th Street NW, between E and F streets.

Due to popular demand, Theatre for A New Audience's production of Soho Rep.'s An Octoroon has been extended again and will play through March 29, Theatre for a New Audience Founding Artistic Director Jeffrey Horowitz announced.

The Ford's Theatre Society 2014-2015 season continues with the musical Freedom's Song: Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, directed by Jeff Calhoun, March 13 through May 20, 2015, at the historic Ford's Theatre (511 Tenth Street NW, Washington, D.C.). A new adaptation of the Broadway musical The Civil War, Freedom's Song features the words of Abraham Lincoln and music inspired by the letters of those who lived through the Civil War. The production is part of Ford's 150: Remembering the Lincoln Assassination, a series of events marking the 150 years since Abraham Lincoln's assassination at Ford's Theatre.

Theatre for A New Audience presents Soho Rep.'s An Octoroon. Branden Jacobs-Jenkins's widely acclaimed play, directed by Sarah Benson, Artistic Director, Soho Rep, has played to sold out houses since previews began on February 14 and as a result of strong ticket sales, has added eight additional performances. Originally scheduled to end its run on March 8, An Octoroon will now play through March 15 at Theatre for a New Audience, Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place, Brooklyn. Mary Todd Lincoln, the wife of President Abraham Lincoln, is the subject of a new play which premieres this month, marking 150 years since the President's assassination. Ford's Theatre, the site of the crime that took the civil rights legend from us, has commissioned playwright James Still to capture a moment in time which very little is known about.
