A Noise Within Presents GREAT EXPECTATIONS, 10/30-12/19

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, revisits CHARLES DICKENS' thrilling GREAT EXPECTATIONS with the West Coast premiere of a powerful stage adaptation by Neil Bartlett opening Saturday, October 30 and closing Sunday, December 19, 2010 (previews begin Saturday, October 23). ANW Co-Founders and Co-Artistic Directors Julia Rodriguez-Elliott and Geoff Elliott co-direct this production - which features original music by noted composer Doug Newell - based on Dickens' masterful novel. Bartlett was also the adaptor of A Noise Within's 2008-09 season favorite Oliver Twist. This marks the second time Rodriguez-Elliott and Elliott have co-directed Great Expectations at A Noise Within, the first produced during the 1995-96 season, winning numerous awards.

Norris Center for the Performing Arts Announces 2010-11 Season

The Norris Center for the Performing Arts Artistic Director James W. Gruessing Jr. has announced the 20010-2011 season, which boasts a full schedule of 23 productions. Titled 'Something to Sing About,' the new season lineup includes musicals, comedies, plays, magic, and music ranging from jazz, and rock to classical.

The Harris Theater for Music and Dance is pleased to announce that Abby McCormick O'Neil was elected Chairman of the Harris Theater Board of Trustees today at the Theater's annual meeting. Ms. O'Neil succeeds Joan Harris, who served as Chairman for the past six years.

Andy Warhol: The Last Decade is the first United States museum exhibition of the late works of American artist Andy Warhol (1928-1987) and the first major Warhol survey in New York since the 1989 exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art. Created amid the frenetic activity of Warhol's celebrity, the nearly fifty paintings on view reveal the artist's vitality, energy, and spirit of experimentation. During this time Warhol produced more works, in a considerable number of series and on a vastly larger scale, than at any other point in his forty-year career. It was a decade of great artistic development for him, characterized by a dramatic transformation of his style and the introduction of new techniques.

Paula Brancati, Lauren Collins, Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Andrea Martin, and Louise Pitre are officially set to be the first cast of the Toronto production of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE. As in the initial New York staging of the play by Nora and Delia Ephron, the production will feature a company of six that rotates in four-week cycles. The next cast will be announced in the next upcoming weeks.

Actor and director Thomas G. Waites (Awake & Sing on Broadway, American Buffalo opposite Al Pacino) presents and directs a darkly erotic 'future-inspired' production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, running from June 3rd-June 27th at the Bernie West Theatre. Waites, who has appeared in over 30 film and teleVision Productions (including John Carpenter's The Thing, And Justice for All, and recurring roles on Law & Order and HBO's Oz) currently runs his own acting studio in New York and also been a member of the Actor's Studio since 1984.
