Wexford Festival Opera, RTE and ARTE have joined forces once again to bring a taste of Wexford to audiences at home wherever they may be. The 70th Wexford Festival Opera 'Shakespeare in the Heart' will run from 19 – 31 October.

The Curtis Opera Theatre announces a new virtual offering entitled Opera OnDemand. Available for free online streaming from January 22 through February 1, 2021, the project features beloved duets from the Italian opera canon. Through months of musical preparation, innovative staging techniques, and state-of-the-art video editing, Curtis's rising opera stars perform in custom virtual sets, united in pairs from their individual locations across the globe.

Cheyanne Coss opened with “Qui la voce,”  Elvira’s mad scene from Bellini’s bel canto opera, I Puritani. Elvira lived in a time when women had no rights, so in opera madness allowed her to proclaim her true feelings. Coss expressed them most eloquently. Terrence Chin-Loy as Des Grieux sang “Ah! Fuyez, douce image” from Massenet’s opera Manon.

Boston Lyric Opera's nascent digital platform, called [insert:opera], picks up steam this month with online-only selections of fresh content, including new entries in its podcast series AT IT'S (s)CORE, new relaxing performances in its video music series a?oeBedtime Lullabies Online,a?? and the final entry in its a?oeDirectors' Cuta?? video series on Bellini's opera NORMA. San Francisco Opera's streamed performances continue through Opera is ON with Vincenzo Bellini's I Capuleti e i Montecchi (The Capulets and the Montagues) on Saturday, May 16. Each streamed opera, captured live in high-definition at the War Memorial Opera House, will be viewable on demand at sfopera.com on the streaming date starting at 10 am and expiring at 11:59 pm the following day.

Norma is the tragic tale of a conflict between love and duty. Norma is a Druid priestess in ancient Gaul, which is being occupied by Roman invaders. Norma falls in love with, and bears two children to, the Roman leader Pollione, thereby betraying her own people and breaking her sacred vows. When Norma finds out Pollione is having an affair with another priestess, it pushes her over the edge with deadly consequences.

The globally renowned acting company's debut on the Guthrie's mainstage offers a rare opportunity for local theatergoers to experience this influential Greek tragedy through a contemporary lens.

The 37th Schwabacher Recital Series continues on Wednesday, March 4, with its second performance of 2020. San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows Simone McIntosh and Zhengyi Bai take the stage at San Francisco's Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater for a musical exploration of love and heartbreak, accompanied by Robert Mollicone on the piano. Their program will spotlight Olivier Messiaen's rarely performed Harawi, Richard Strauss' beloved Opus 27 songs and selections from Vincenzo Bellini's Sei Ariette da Camera.
