More than 300 members of New York City's philanthropic, business, civic and theater communities gathered tonight to honor Newark Mayor Cory A. Booker and Broadway Producer Eric Krebs at the Fortune Society's Annual Awards and Benefit Gala held at the Laura Pels Theater.

The Fortune Society, one of the nation's most respected non-profit organizations offering services to formerly incarcerated men and women, is honoring Tony Award-nominated producer Eric Krebs at the 2010 Annual Awards and Benefit Gala.

The hit Off-Broadway hit play, The Castle, will give its final performance Saturday, May 23, 2009, at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Cause Célèbre, the new theatre company devoted to fostering an enhanced understanding of psychological, physical and social issues., and where each month a different issue will be the focal point, and for which proceeds raised go to a foundation connected to the cause, will present its next event at The Players on March 18, 2008. For the third presentation by Cause Célèbre, Christine Ebersole, Mercedes Ruehl, Marian Seldes, and Linda Powell will perform in a series of readings, performances, original works and song (from Ms. Ebersole) in an evening devoted to, and benefiting, prison reform and The Fortune Society.

Performances begin Sunday, March 30th at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) with an opening night set for Sunday, April 27th at 5 p.m.
