Performances begin this Saturday, February 8 as The Old Globe presents Shakespeare's spellbinding romance The Winter's Tale. Artistic Director Barry Edelstein makes his Old Globe directorial debut with the show, the first indoor Shakespeare production at the Globe in over a decade. The Winter's Tale will run Feb. 8 - March 16, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Feb. 8 - Feb. 12. Opening night is Thursday, Feb. 13 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE, or by visiting the Box Office at 1363 Old Globe Way in Balboa Park.

Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere production of Outside Mullingar, the new play by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner John Patrick Shanley, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, opened last night, January 23 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) in a strictly limited 11-week engagement. Due to popular demand, The Amazing Max and The Box of Interesting Things, the "awesome and hilarious live magic show for the whole family" (PBS Kids) starring magician Max Darwin (aka "The Amazing Max") which just enjoyed a sold out run from November through the holidays, will play an additional six-week engagement (January 19-March 1) at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center - MMAC (248 West 60th Street - between Amsterdam and West End Avenues) on Saturday and Sunday afternoons*.

Zoë Bell, the international action icon discovered by Quentin Tarantino, will appear at Museum of the Moving Image with a preview screening of her new film Raze, on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. In this exciting and relentlessly hyperviolent action film directed by Josh Waller, she stars as a woman forced to do battle with other innocents for the amusement of unseen spectators. Leading in to this special screening and appearance, the Museum will also present a retrospective of her work—chronicling her transformation from stuntwoman to star—in the films Whip It, Death Proof, and Kill Bill: Vol. 1 and Kill Bill: Vol. 2 on January 4 and 5. The stage premiere of Shakespeare in Love will open at London's Noel Coward Theatre in the summer of 2014. This new play will be adapted for the stage by Lee Hall from the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard. Declan Donnellan will direct and the production will be designed by Nick Ormerod. Shakespeare in Love will be produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions.
Alison Nelson Chocolate Bar Plans to Expand in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait

Dubai's Saif Belhasa Group of Companies is planning to expand its restaurant division with new outlets signed for the Alison Nelson Chocolate Bar brand, the conglomerate's chairman told Arabian Business in an interview. The Al Jadaf-based group of companies holds the Gulf franchise rights to the Alison Nelson Chocolate Bar, a cafe concept built around chocolate products and originally from New York. It currently operates two outlets in The Dubai Mall, and one each in Mercato Mall, Mirdif City Centre, The Pearl Qatar and Pakistan. The firm has already signed deals to open the franchise in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and is also hoping to launch in Kuwait in the near future.
