This November, the Tony Award-winning, worldwide musical smash CHICAGO will celebrate a monumental milestone when it becomes the second-longest running show in Broadway history.

On Thursday night, the cast of Chicago, including Bianca Marroquin, Amra-Faye Wright, Ryan Silverman, Christopher Fitzgerald, and Roz Ryan celebrated the show's 17th year on Broadway with a special cake-cutting. This remarkable milestone-performance achievement has only occurred twice before in Broadway theatre history -- by Cats (which closed in its 18th year after 7,485 performances) and The Phantom of the Opera (now in its 26th year).

On Thursday afternoon, 106.7 Lite FM continued its annual lunchtime theatre summer series, '106.7 Lite FM's Broadway in Bryant Park.' The 2013 program presents the best of Broadway, FREE to the public, on six consecutive Thursdays on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by Lite FM's on-air personalities, the 13th annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through August 15. Yesterday, December 20, Broadway's globally acclaimed revival of the Tony Award-winning musical CHICAGO celebrated another momentous milestone and record-breaking when it played performance #6,681. With that 8 p.m. performance at the historic Ambassador Theatre, CHICAGO surpassed the original Broadway production of Les Miserables to become the third longest-running show in Broadway history.
