Upcoming MTI Shows - 7/03 for Toronto

The Glimmerglass Festival has announced its lineup for ShowTalk, a series where visiting scholars and artists explore topics related to the 2011 Festival.

THE KATSELAS THEATRE COMPANY is proud to announce the extension of the smash hit World Premiere MAD WOMEN, conceived, written and performed by John Fleck, directed by Ric Montejano.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, David Strathairn is set to join previously announced Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field in the film version of 'Team of Rivals,' based on Doris Kearns Goodwin's biography of Abraham Lincoln. Steven Spielberg will direct the film titled, 'Lincoln,' featuring a screenplay by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner.

La Jolla Playhouse presents Peer Gynt, by Henrik Ibsen, adapted and directed by David Schweizer, running June 28 - July 24 (media night: Wednesday, July 6 at 7:30 pm) in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. Westport Country Playhouse will stage Terrence McNally's summer sizzler, 'Lips Together, Teeth Apart,' directed by Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos, playing July 12 - 30. The third production in the Playhouse's 80th birthday year, 'Lips Together, Teeth Apart' is a perceptive comedy with powerful dramatic conflicts about two straight couples spending a July weekend on Fire Island.

Alley Theatre Board President Rob Reedy, the Managing Partner of Porter Hedges LLP, announced at today's Annual Board Meeting that Artistic Director Gregory Boyd and Managing Director Dean R. Gladden signed new five-year contracts with the Alley beginning fiscal year 2011-2012 and continuing through fiscal year 2015-2016.

DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are pleased to announce that SHREK THE MUSICAL with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, directed by Jason Moore and Rob Ashford, will play DeVos Performance Hall, for one week only, June 21-26, 2011.

Playwright Tony Kushner hopes audiences will be as enthralled by the stage magic in THE ILLUSION as he is. In this new video, just out from Signature, Kushner discusses the importance of creating the duality of reality and fiction on stage, conjuring a form of 'rational skepticism' that leads the audience to a surprising conclusion.
