The Award-Winning Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) has announced the world premiere production of Cody Daigle's (resident playwright for The Playhouse Tulsa's 2013-14 season) In The Bones, directed by Dev Bondarin. In other exciting news, Bondarin has just been named APAC's new Artistic Director, assuming the role that Tom Wojtunik stepped down from in June. In The Bones will play a limited engagement at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 30-44 Crescent St (@30th Rd), in Astoria, Queens. Performances begin Thursday, November 6 and continue through Saturday, November 22. Opening Night is Saturday, November 8 (8 p.m.). (more...)

Merrill and directed by Wojtunik, as his last production as Artistic Director. The Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) announced today that Artistic Director Tom Wojtunik will be stepping down from his position as Artistic Director on June 30th, 2014. During Wojtunik's six years as Artistic Director, he successfully raised the company's artistic profile and solidified APAC's place as a respected developer and producer of new works. The Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) announced today, that as of April 14, 2014, Erin Moore will be the new Executive Director, replacing Taryn Sacramone, who resigned last June. This is the culmination of a nearly year-long search for that candidate whose love for the performing arts is matched only by her commitment to further the cultural vibrancy of Queens. Moore's first production as Executive Director will be Rodgers & Hammerstein's Allegro, directed by APAC's Artistic Director Tom Wojtunik, opening May 1st, 2014. (more...)

The Cabaret Showdown is a monthly game show that offers a unique mixture of live karaoke and Jeopardy. Contestants are asked to sing selections from various musical categories listed on the Official Game Board with no knowledge of what the song will be until right before they sing. To level the playing field all songs are popular standards, each contestant is given a copy of the sheet music and accompanied by a live pianist.
