All-Out Arts and the acclaimed Fresh Fruit Festival will celebrate notable selections from last year's Fresh Fruit Festival. 'It was a very powerful season,' said Louis Lopardi, the executive producer of the festival. 'It's fitting for our 15th year. So many amazing works,' he continued. 'And looking forward to one of most exiting seasons to come!' he concluded.

London Calling, The Clash's third album, is considered by many to be one of the band's greatest achievements. It is also the title of a musical that has been knocking around for the last decade, now being presented at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Using songs by The Clash, it is the story of four bandmates who share a dream of making it big. According to the program it is not based on The Clash's rise to fame but on the writers' own experiences of, 'A youth spent playing in bands, living in squats and pursuing dreams…'

On Saturday, January 26 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Theater for the New City will ceremonially burn its mortgage to celebrate becoming debt-free. The gathering, to be attended by elected officials, local activists, artists and celebrities, will include performances and the opening of an art exhibit.

Lieutenant Dan Choi, the war veteran who was discharged from the Army under 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' was welcomed at The Normal Heart last night by Normal Heart playwright Larry Kramer and New York State Senator Tom Duane, who was Senate sponsor of the recently passed New York Marriage Equality bill. Also on hand in the audience to show support was stage and screen favorite, Hugh Jackman. Lt. Choi, in his full military uniform, joined Larry Kramer to hand out 'Please Know' letters from the playwright to audience members immediately following the 7:00 PM performance.

This evening, Wednesday, May 25, 2011, Christine Vachon (Producer, Far From Heaven, Boys Don't Cry, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), fashion guru and author Carson Kressley of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, talk show host Phil Donahue, food critic and Chopped host Ted Allen, and openly-gay and HIV-positive New York State Senator Tom Duane will host a cocktail reception and preview screening from 6:30-8:30 PM at New York City's LGBT Community Center, 208 West 13th Street (between 7th & Greenwich Avenues) in Manhattan to raise funds for ACT UP!, a documentary film currently in production with the expectation of premiering at Sundance 2012, followed by wide theatrical release and television broadcast.
