Signature Theatre presents the New York Premiere of August Wilson's HOW I LEARNED WHAT I LEARNED, co-conceived with and directed by Todd Kreidler, in collaboration with and featuring Tony Award-winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Now in performances, the production will now play through Sunday, December 29. Opening night is November 24 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Signature Theatre Extends August Wilson's HOW I LEARNED WHAT I LEARNED Through 12/29

Signature Theatre has announced a second one-week extension for the New York Premiere of August Wilson's HOW I LEARNED WHAT I LEARNED, co-conceived with and directed by Todd Kreidler, in collaboration with and featuring Tony Award-winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Now in performances, the production will now play through Sunday, December 29. Opening night is November 24 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Tickets for the initial run through December 15 are now sold out. Tickets during the extension week start at $55 each. Signature offers a waitlist option for all sold out performances. Names will be taken at the Box Office starting one hour prior to curtain. Waitlist tickets through December 15 are $25, subject to availability.

Signature Theatre's New York Premiere of August Wilson's HOW I LEARNED WHAT I LEARNED begins performances tonight. The production, which is co-conceived with and directed by Todd Kreidler, and in collaboration with and featuring Tony Award-winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson, opens on November 24 and runs through Sunday, December 22 in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42ndStreet between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Malcolm-Jamal Warner to Lead Arena Stage's GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER; Full Cast Announced

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for Guess Who's Coming to Dinner starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner (The Cosby Show, Malcolm and Eddie) in his Washington, D.C. theatrical debut as Dr. John Prentice. Under the direction of David Esbjornson (Broadway's Driving Miss Daisy and Arena's Red Hot Patriot starring Kathleen Turner), this heart-warming comedy features many of the same actors who appeared in the world premiere of the play by True Colors Theatre Company in July 2012. Kenny Leon, who collaborated with playwright Todd Kreidler on the world premiere and was previously announced to direct for Arena Stage, withdrew from the project due to an unforeseen conflict. The play is adapted from William Rose's screenplay for the 1967 film of the same name starring Sidney Poitier, Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy about a young white woman in the 1960s introducing her family to her charming, accomplished and African-American fiance. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner runs November 29, 2013-January 5, 2014 in the Fichandler Stage.

Limited $25 subsidized tickets remain for the production's initial run through December 15. Tickets during the extension week are $75 each.

Signature Theatre has announced that tickets are now on sale for the New York Premiere of August Wilson's HOW I LEARNED WHAT I LEARNED, co-conceived with and directed by Todd Kreidler, and featuring Tony Award-winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The production runs November 5 through December 15, 2013 with a November 24 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

As BroadwayWorld previously announced, a new musical inspired by the work of Tupac Shakur, titled HOLLER IF YA HEAR ME, is on its way to Broadway. Directed by Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun [2004], Fences [2010] The Mountaintop), the project is planned for a Broadway production in the 2013-2014 season, subject to theatre availability.

Malcolm-Jamal Warner will make his D.C.-area theater debut as Dr. John Prentice in Todd Kreidler's stage adaptation of GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER directed by Kenny Leon (Arena's every tongue confess and Stick Fly). Warner first rose to national prominence appearing as Theo in the television series THE COSBY SHOW. His work on the show garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He is not only a seasoned actor, but an accomplished musician, director and producer. GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER runs November 29, 2013 - January 5, 2014 in the Fichandler Stage.

Jujamcyn Theaters and True Colors Theatre Company (Kenny Leon, Co-Founding Artistic Director) have announced that Thembisile Gxuluwe from West Mifflin Area High School near Pittsburgh has won first place at the 5th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition held on Monday, May 6th at at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street). Pablo Lopez from Los Angeles was the runner-up, and an honorable mention went to Branndin Phillips-Laramorefrom Chicago. The event, which was free and open to the public, featured high school students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Pittsburgh and Seattle performing monologues by the late, legendary American playwright.
