Acclaimed British actor Toby Jones, famous for roles such as Dobby the House elf in the Harry Potter movie series, the Dad's Army movie remake, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Hunger Games and a whole host of other major movies, theatre productions and television dramas, is set to appear at Sage Gateshead on Thursday 14 October.

Bafta & Olivier winner Toby Jones has been announced to lead the cast for Dr Schnitzler's Casebook, a specially commissioned stage production to launch Jewish Book Week's 70th anniversary celebrations.

Uncle Vanya was filmed on stage under strict covid protocols at the Harold Pinter Theatre in the middle of 2020. Uncle Vanya was one of many West End shows that saw their run abruptly cut short when COVID-19 hit. But, with their set still up at the Harold Pinter Theatre, back in August the show was performed once again, this time to cameras instead of an audience, allowing Uncle Vanya to have a nationwide cinema release.
