Ballet Hispanico to Perform SOMBRERISIMO as Part of Inaugural Victory Dance at The New Victory Theater

Ballet Hispanico and BHdos to Perform in City Parks Foundation's SUMMERSTAGE

Ballet Hispanico, recognized as the nation's premier Latino dance organization since 1970, will perform a dynamic trio of works at SummerStage at Central Park on Wednesday, July 16 at 8pm. The program for the evening will include Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro's Asuka, a special piece celebrating the life and music of Celia Cruz on the anniversary of her 2003 passing. Ms. Cruz last performed in Central Park's SummerStage in 2002. Ballet Hispanico's pre-professional second company, BHdos, will also participate in SummerStage with a performance at St. Mary's Park in the Bronx on Friday, July 11 at 7pm. Junior Society of Ballet Hispanico Hosts DANCE INTO FASHION Today

Ballet Hispanico, recognized as the nation's leading Latino dance organization since 1970, will host its annual Junior Society benefit, Dance Into Fashion, at The Jane Ballroom today, May 8, 2014 at 8pm. The evening will showcase the creations of Venezuelan-born fashion designer Angel Sanchez as modeled by Ballet Hispanico company dancers in a unique presentation choreographed by Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro. Mr. Sanchez's collaboration with Ballet Hispanico includes the design of original costumes for a new choreographic work premiering at the Company's New York Season at the Joyce Theater on April 15-27, 2014. Broadway Artists Alliance, a New York City-based musical theatre training program, kicked off their 10th season with a star-studded concert as part of the Broadway at Birdland concert series on Monday night. Performers, as well as instructors and alumni sang their all-time favorite show tunes. The cast included Laura Benanti (left, by Seth Walters), Jenn Colella, Andrea Burns, David Ayers, and Heather Parcells, who were joined by BAA Alumni Liz Byrne, Emma Howard, Kyle Taylor Parker, Ruby Rakos, Emerson Steele, Bethany Tesarck, and Clay Thomson. Proceeds from this event will benefit the BAA scholarship fund, which provides $10,000 in scholarships each year. (more...)

Ballet Hispanico, recognized as the nation's leading Latino dance organization since 1970, announces the first performance of the Fall 2013 Season for BHdos, the company's pre-professional troupe. BHdos will perform at the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center in Central Park as part of the Harlem Meer Performance Festival on September 1. This is a free event; no tickets will be issued.
