Tonight, the 43rd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards ceremony and award presentation hosted by Craig Lauzon occurred at the TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning, Koerner Hall.

The Board of Trustees of TDF, one of the country's foremost not-for-profit service organizations for the performing arts, has named Deeksha Gaur to the post of Executive Director. Ms. Gaur is a co-founder and the current General Manager of Show-Score, a theatre reviews platform. She will assume her duties at TDF on August 7. 

On Wednesday, June 28, TDF’s TKTS will mark 50 years in Times Square. Starting at 11am, there will be a special celebration in honor of TKTS’ golden anniversary behind the TKTS Booth on Broadway and 47th Street, in front of the red steps.

On Monday, June 12 at 5 p.m., TDF will host its annual Wendy Wasserstein Project ceremony at The Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College.

At a press conference held at Meridian Hall, the Toronto Alliance for the  Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 228 nominations for the 43rd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which recognize excellence in professional theatre, dance and opera in Toronto for the 2022-2023 season. Also announced at the press conference was the recipient of the Province of Ontario’s Pauline McGibbon Award. 

TDF will host the first-ever autism-friendly performance of the Broadway smash musical hit, SIX on Sunday, June 11 at 1pm at the Lena Horne Theatre.

TDF has partnered with The Community Foundation of New Jersey to obtain 1580 tickets to ten Broadway shows. These tickets will be distributed, at no cost, to members of the United States Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard who will be in New York City during this year’s Fleet Week. 

The Broadway League’s Black to Broadway Initiative will present the third annual Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth concert in Times Square on Sunday, June 18th from 11:00am – 12:30pm (rain or shine).

The Tony Awards Administration Committee will present the 2023 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre to production stage manager, Lisa Dawn Cave; Victoria Bailey, Executive Director, Theatre Development Fund; and theatrical accountant, Robert Fried.

59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director) have announced a Relaxed Performance of Cassie and the Lights, presented by Patch of Blue in association with New Diorama Theatre and Xinyi Shen for Verse Unbound and Amelia Campbell, which will be held on Saturday June 24 at 2:15 PM. Julie Taymor will be honored with the Matador Award for Extraordinary Achievement in Classical Theater and the Axe-Houghton Foundation will receive the George Mayer Award for Extraordinary Service to Classical Theater at the Running of the Red Bulls Gala Benefit on Monday June 5th (6pm).

Theatre Communications Group has announced Kaʻiukapu Baker, Claudia Brownlee, and Lia Wallfish as the recipients of The Willa Kim Costume Design Scholarship 2023.
