Wells Fargo Center for the Arts to Welcome Mario Cantone, 5/9

Wells Fargo Center for the Arts presents actor and comedian Mario Cantone in a one-night-only musical cabaret at the Ruth Finley Person Theater (50 Mark West Springs Rd. Santa Rosa, CA) on Friday, May 9, 2014. Best known from his role on the HBO series, 'Sex in the City,' as Anthony Marantino, Charlotte's flamboyant wedding planner, the actor, singer, writer, comedian and impressionist will delight audiences with his high-energy comedy cabaret. Tickets are $65 and $45 and may be purchased online at wellsfargocenterarts.org, by calling 707.546.3600 or in person at the box office at 50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa.

Axis Company to Present Edgar Oliver's IN THE PARK, 5/8-6/7

Axis Company will present the world premiere of In The Park, a new solo show from esteemed actor, playwright, storyteller and longtime Axis member Edgar Oliver. Directed by Randy Sharp, Artistic Director of Axis and the director of Oliver's first solo show, the acclaimed, Edinburgh Fringe First Award-winning East 10th Street, In The Park follows Oliver's Helen & Edgar (2012), which The New York Times' Ben Brantley called 'utterly absorbing and unexpectedly moving.' The new production comes on the heels of Axis' recent hit Nothing On Earth (Can Hold Houdini), which was written and directed by Sharp and lauded by The New York Times and others.

Trusty Sidekick Theatre to Present World Premiere of EARTH at University Settlement, 4/19-5/3

The Performance Project @ University Settlement and Trusty Sidekick Theater Company (TSTC) will co-present the world premiere production of Earth-- a new play developed especially for audiences aged 6 and older. The production will run over three consecutive Saturdays (April 19, 26 and May 3) at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Speyer Hall in the University Settlement, located at 184 Eldridge Street, New York, NY 10002.

This Summer, The Public Theater will be offering a summer program for young actors between the ages of 14 and 18. A Midsummer's Day Camp at The Public Theater. Designed by arts in education specialists from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, the two week summer conservatory for NYC's young Classical Actors will run August 4th through 17th.

TOO MUCH SUN - the newest play by Nicky Silver - will be given its world-premiere production this spring at the Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St.) starring the Tony Award-winning actress Linda Lavin, joined by the newly-announced cast: Ken Barnett, Richard Bekins, Matt Dellapina, Matt Dickson and Jennifer Westfeldt, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, The Vineyard's Artistic Director, and Sarah Stern, Co-Artistic Director. The YALE INSTITUTE FOR MUSIC THEATRE has selected two original book musicals to be developed in an intensive lab setting in New Haven, June 3-15. Afterland, with music and lyrics by Benjamin Velez and book and lyrics by Kathryn Hathaway, will be directed by Mark Brokaw; and Clouds are Pillows for the Moon, with music by Tidtaya Sinutoke and book and lyrics by Ty Defoe, will be directed by Leigh Silverman. The Institute culminates with open rehearsal readings of each project, presented as a part of the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, on June 14 and 15.
