BC Beat, the bi-annual choreography showcase established to support, explore and experience innovative theatrical dance, announces a line up for Monday November 10th featuring eight choreographers with work performed by a company of 40 artists from Broadway's biggest hits. The evening kicks off with 7pm at Cielo (18 Little W. 12th Street).

?The new musical THE NINE FATHERS OF ARIEL is currently undergoing a New York workshop, concluding with invited rehearsals for industry members on November 6 and 7.

YALE REPERTORY THEATRE presents the world premiere of WAR by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, November 21–December 13 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) announce recent recipients of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Initiative commissions for Manhattan Theatre Club. The commissioned writers are Jeff Augustin (Little Children Dream of God), Courtney Baron (A Very Common Procedure) and Juliana Nash (Murder Ballad), Nell Benjamin (The Explorers Club), Madeline George (The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence), Tom Holloway (And No More Shall We Part), Nathan Jackson (Broke-ology), Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (An Octoroon), Greg Pierce (Slowgirl), and Alexandra Wood (The Initiate).

In advance of Classic Stage Company's rare production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's 1947 musical Allegro, CSC's artistic director Brian Kulick and Tony Award-winning director John Doyle lead a conversation on the legendary team's most personal, groundbreaking and little-known work. The discussion also includes Ted Chapin, president and executive director of Rodgers & Hammerstein: An Imagem Company, and cast members George Abud, Claybourne Elder, and Jane Pfitsch.

David Rabe's Sticks and Bones launches The New Group's 20th Anniversary Season. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production features Richard Chamberlain, Nadia Gan, Holly Hunter, Morocco Omari, Bill Pullman, Ben Schnetzer and Raviv Ullman. The Pasadena Playhouse presents Lavender Night Out a benefit in support of art, inclusion and equality featuring a Premiere Week performance of Diana Son's GLADD Media Award winning play STOP KISS on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Sundance Institute today announced the projects and artists that will participate in its two Fall artist development programs: the inaugural Playwrights Studio at Flying Point in Water Mill, NY (October 19-26), as well as the two-week Theatre Lab (November 30 - December 14) for musical theatre, ensemble-generated projects and solo work at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA). Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the initiatives are among the Theatre Program's five annual Labs and Residencies for theatre artists and part of the 24 artist residency labs across many creative disciplines Sundance Institute offers annually.

Award-winning Broadway legend Andre De Shields has written a tribute to his dear friend and mentor, the inimitable Geoffrey Holder, who passed away on October 5, for American Theatre, the magazine of the American not-for-profit theatre. It will appear in the magazine's December issue but is currently available on the magazine's website here.

Jaygee Macapugay, who appeared in the cast of the off-Broadway hit musical Here Lies Love, will assume the title role of 'Imelda Marcos' with her first official performance tonight, October 20th.

The LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of brownsville song (b-side for tray), a new play by Kimber Lee, directed by Patricia McGregor, makes its New York premiere at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street), featuring Sheldon Best, Sun Mee Chomet, Lizan Mitchell, Chris Myers and Taliyah Whitaker. The show opens tonight, October 20, and will play a 6-week limited engagement through Sunday, November 16.

Linda Lavin will be joining the lineup of stars honoring Joel Grey and Jeanine Tesori at the Encompass New Opera Theatre's Gala celebration on Oct. 26th at The National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South, New York City).
