The Wailers Coming to Ridgefield Playhouse, 5/18

On the 30th anniversary of its 1984 release, The Wailers will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, May 18, at 8 p.m. performing the iconic album Legend in its entirety, which features the bands biggest hits of all time including 'I Shot The Sheriff', 'Redemption Song', 'Jamming' and many, many more. Special guest is Makua, the ambassador of Aloha, who is an accomplished ukulele player, singer and surfer. This event is underwritten by The Mango Tree and is part of the Xfinity Rock Series. On May 3rd, Studio 42 will present the Unproducible works of Meghan Deans - winner of the '13 Unproducible Smackdown (Ashore), Eric Dufault (Year of the Rooster), Brett Epstein - Fan Slam winner (I Loved Sam Stone), Leah Nanako Winkler (Death for Sydney Black), and Lauren Yee (Ching Chong Chinaman). Direction by Liz Carlson (The Playwrights Realm's Lottie in the Late Afternoon), Matt Dickson (INTAR's The Lowest Form of Writing), John Giampietro (EST's Year of the Rooster), and Jesse Jou (Rising Circle Theater Collectives's Say You Heard My Echo). Annapurna, directed by Profiles ensemble member Eric Burgher and featuring ensemble member Darrell W. Cox, runs June 6, 2014 - July 20, 2014 with the press opening on Thursday, June 12 at 8:00pm. Ethernet Alliance Congratulates IEEE 802.3 Working Group on Launch of IEEE P802.3bs Task Force

The Ethernet Alliance 400Gb/s Subcommittee is tasked with helping support the definition and development of Ethernet's next speed. In part, the subcommittee's work will focus on supporting IEEE's 400GbE standardization initiative, IEEE P802.3bs, through consensus building. The subcommittee will also play an active role in elevating industry awareness and adoption of 400GbE and related technologies. The Ethernet Alliance 400GbE Subcommittee will hold a members-only meeting on April 29, 2014, enabling industry consensus-building on technical proposals. (more...)

The Gift Theatre Artistic Director Michael Patrick Thornton announces the Chicago premiere of Thinner Than Water written by Melissa Ross and directed by The Gift ensemble member John Gawlik (2013 Jeff Award winner for When the Rain Stops Falling at Circle Theatre). The production marks Thornton's return to The Gift main stage since ensemble member Andrew Hinderaker's Jeff Nominated Dirty in 2012. Thornton recently appeared in Les Waters' production of Our Town at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Thornton joins guest artists Donna McGough (last seen in Coriolanus with The Hypocrites) and Darci Nalepa (Dirty) and fellow Gift ensemble members Brittany Burch (The Lonesome West), Paul D'Addario (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), Gabriel Franken (Broadsword), Lynda Newton (Absolute Hell) and Jay Worthington (Vigils). Tonight marks part two of Glee's 100th episode and how do we begin? With the age old question of kill, marry or bone. The less you know, the better.Follow up by classic Sue Sylvester insults and off screen team up with Holly Holiday to make up 'team gorgeous'. Um, sure? Tina's monologuing about not being asked to the dance…shocker! Now she has big dreams of getting to New York only to be upstaged by Blaine yet again who has revealed he has gotten into NYADA congratulations you go Blaine coco. Tina is knocked out into a Friends inspired opening and dream sequence. Delightfully cheesy just how we love glee with Sam hanging in his undies every other scene. Now the first big number of the night is Dreamgirls classic 'I Am Changing' sung by powerhouse Mercedes and the charismatic Kurt. It is their attempt to mend the bond between Rachel and Santana. Kurt and Mercedes voices blend very well together to bring a great performance with everyone enjoying it except Santana who seems to be too busy not being blinded by the spotlight to let the message sink in. Rachel seems to be listening though so we will see where this goes as we go into our first break but not before getting a glimpse of Mr. Brittany S. Pierce who looks like she's up to no good.
