In a special one-night-only event, Portland Opera will celebrate Maestro George Manahan's tenure as Portland Opera's Music Director with a concert in his honor. The Portland Opera Chorus and Orchestra will be featured, as well as guest artists and friends performing arias and ensemble pieces in a night of celebration. The George & Friends Concert will take place on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 7:30PM at the Keller Auditorium. Tickets are on sale now.    

Portland Center Stage's Swirl in the Pearl: A PCS Benefit Performance will take over The Armory on May 3 to celebrate the power of great theater and wonderful community. Favorite Portland artists will be glammed up and ready to delight, including Merideth Kaye Clark, Susannah Mars, Vin Shambry, LaRhonda Steele, Leah Yorkston, and Ken Yoshikawa.

Set in a Zoom call, Is Everybody Here? is a collaborative effort of more than 30 creators illustrating the current moment of COVID-19 in a 40-minute musical revue of ten songs.

Portland Opera is pleased to announce programming for the company's 56th season, which will open on October 25, 2019. The season will launch with one of the most powerful operas of all time, Puccini's Madama Butterfly, starring internationally acclaimed soprano Hiromi Omura in the title role. In February, the company will present An American Quartet: Four One-Act Operas in an intimate evening in the Hampton Opera Center's black box theatre. These one-acts feature Gian Carlo Menotti's The Telephone, Samuel Barber's A Hand of Bridge, Douglas Moore's Gallantry, and Lee Hoiby's Bon Appetit! The season will continue with a rare presentation of Vivaldi's opera Bajazet in March, which will be a special collaboration with the Portland Baroque Orchestra. In the spring, Portland Opera will present its annual Big Night concert and Leoncavallo's verismo masterpiece, Pagliacci. The 2019/20 season will close with the Portland Opera premiere of Jake Heggie's familial drama, Three Decembers.

This holiday season, Artists Repertory Theatre presents Joe Landry's It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, directed by Beth Harper. The limited engagement of It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is from December 6 through December 30 at Northwest Children's Theater and School.

Hotel deLuxe, and partner Veuve Clicquot, are bringing a touch of glitz to the classic American Supper Club experience to downtown Portland this New Year's Eve - a first-of-its-kind in Portland. Set in the glamorous backdrop of Gracie's restaurant, Hotel deLuxe presents "Happy Days Are Here Again," a cabaret show celebrating the music of Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, starring local sensations Susannah Mars and Merideth Kaye Clark, accompanied by David Saffert on the piano.

SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS is an ambitious, thought-provoking, heart-warming, and funny play about six people at a silent retreat.

Starting October 7, Artists Repertory Theatre presents Bess Wohl's Small Mouth Sounds, directed by Shawn Lee. Artists Rep's 2016/17 season featured Wohl's American Hero, which was also directed by Lee. Small Mouth Sounds runs from October 7 through November 4 on the Alder Stage.

May will join Artistic Director Damaso Rodriguez to lead the company as Managing Director at a transformative time in the company's 36-year history. His selection follows a six-month national search by Artists Rep's Board of Directors. May is an expert strategic management and fundraising leader whose experience includes work at some of the region's most significant nonprofit organizations and civic institutions. May will begin his role immediately.

This one-weekend engagement is the final production of Artists Rep's 2017/18 FRONTIER SERIES which brings new work in performance to Portland. White Rabbit Red Rabbit will run for only four performances Thursday, April 12 through Sunday April 15, 2018.
