Seattle Public Theater (SPT) is proud to host The Hats We Wear: A Night of One-Acts, a series of plays exploring the different paths we take in life and where they might lead us. This play festival is produced by S3 Productions, a trio of high-school students from SPT's youth ensemble.

Profiles Theatre Announces Upcoming Season

Profiles Theatre Artistic Directors Darrell W. Cox and Joe Jahraus announce the 25th Anniversary Season featuring a full slate of new and challenging works premiering at the Profiles Theatre Complex on North Broadway. The upcoming season features six productions including the Midwest premieres of Wrecks by Neil LaBute, the award-winning play Cock by Mike Bartlett, Hunter Gatherers by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, In God's Hat by Rhett Rossi and Gidion's Knot by Johnna Adams. Additionally, Profiles acclaimed production of Hellcab by Will Kern, one of Chicago theatre's longest running hits, returns for the holiday season. These six productions alternate between Profiles' two venues, The Main Stage at 4139 N. Broadway and The Alley Stage at 4147 N. Broadway.

NAKED ANGELS Announces Liz Carlson as New Artistic Director

Naked Angels, the eclectic downtown theater company that recently partnered with the New School for Drama under the leadership of Naked Angels founding company member Pippin Parker, is pleased to announce that New School alumna Liz Carlson will assume the role of Artistic Director of Naked Angels beginning May 1, 2013, further enhancing the relationship between the two companies. Current Artistic Director Andy Donald, who succeeded Geoffrey Nauffts in July 2011 after two years as Associate Artistic Director, departs the company for a new position as a creative producer at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Honeysuckle Weeks, Charity Wakefield and Alec Newman to Star in THESE SHINING LIVES in Finsbury Park from May 8

According to the Daily Mail, Honeysuckle Weeks, Charity Wakefield and Alec Newman will star in Melanie Marnich's These Shining Lives, set to kick off the first season at the Park Theatre in Finsbury Park. Loveday Ingram will direct the show from May 8, with designs by Tim Shortall. The show runs through June 9, 2013.

Guthrie Director Joe Dowling today announced 12 mainstage productions of the theater's 2013-2014 season. The theater's 51st season includes first-time Guthrie productions of playwrights Beth Henley and Nina Raine, classics on the Wurtele Thrust Stage directed by Dowling and Marion McClinton, WorldStage Series presentations of returning companies Kneehigh Theatre and Out of Joint, as well as a summertime slate of a beloved musical and a Christopher Durang comedy that is currently a Broadway hit.

MURDER BALLAD, the new musical that enjoyed an acclaimed, sold-out engagement at Manhattan Theatre Club's The Studio at Stage II, will transfer to the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street) this spring for a strictly limited nine week engagement, featuring three of the critically acclaimed cast members from the MTC run of the musical: John Ellison Conlee, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and Will Swenson. They will be joined by Caissie Levy who will play the role of 'Sara.'

Signal Ensemble Theatre Presents LASCIVIOUS SOMETHING, 5/2-6/8

Signal Ensemble Theatre ends their Tenth Anniversary 2012-2013 Season with their final production, the Chicago premiere of Lascivious Something, at Signal Ensemble Theatre, 1802 West Berenice Ave. Lascivious Something is written by Sheila Callaghan and is directed by Signal Ensemble member and Co-Artistic Director Ronan Marra. Performances will regularly run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Preview performances are on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3 at 8 p.m., followed by opening/press night on Saturday, May 4 at 8 p.m. Regular ticket prices are $20 for single tickets, $15 for industry/students/seniors/groups and $10 for previews.
