On Friday, October 4 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, opens its 2013-2014 concert season at Carnegie Hall with special guest Chris Botti. The internationally renowned jazz trumpeter joins The New York Pops to perform a new spin on classic standards and other favorites. The performance will include songs such as When I Fall In Love and Emmanuel in addition to other selections from Botti's recent Grammy Award-winning album Impressions.

On October 4, 2013, The New York Pops orchestra will launch its 31st Season at Carnegie Hall with An Evening with Chris Botti. In 2006, the late Bruce Rossmeyer called upon his personal relationship with James Gandolfini to help support his favorite children's charity, Camp Boggy Creek. He was granted the title of Grand Marshall at Camp Boggy Creek's 12th Annual Ride for Children. Together, along with the support of over 1,200 motorcycle riders, they helped raise approximately $500,000 to benefit children who suffer from serious illnesses, such as cancer, epilepsy, diabetes and spina bifida. Bassett and Hall join the star-studded lineup of participants for the special evening: in addition to Austin, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith and John Legend will be inducted into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame; Stevie Wonder will induct John Legend; and Darren Criss will perform, then introduce the Youth Orchestra LA (YOLA) student performance. Each inductee will perform with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by Thomas Wilkins.
