On Monday, May 2, 2016, The New York Pops celebrates its 33rd birthday with a grand gala evening honoring the award-winning composer and lyricist Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, whose collaborations include the hit Broadway musicals Les Miserables and Miss Saigon. The event will be an exciting evening celebrating the duo's long-lasting contributions to the international world of musical theatre.

Kendrick Lamar Performs with National Symphony Orchestra Pops Tonight

Kendrick Lamar, 'the most talented rapper of his generation' (Rolling Stone) and multiple Grammy-winner, will appear for the first time with an orchestra when he performs with the National Symphony for one night only in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke will conduct the program, featuring selections from Lamar's second studio album, To Pimp a Butterfly, in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, tonight, October 20, 2015, at 8 p.m.

Houston Symphony Pays Tribute to Frank Sinatra, 10/30

The Houston Symphony will pay tribute to Frank Sinatra's life with a program featuring timeless classics at 8 p.m. on October 30 and 31 and 7:30 p.m. on November 1. Led by Principal POPS Conductor Designate Steven Reineke, the program will include two of his own arrangements and reflect the style of music that "Ol' Blue Eyes" popularized in the 1940s and 50s.

Carnegie Hall's Free Fall Family Weekend Set for This Weekend

This weekend, October 17-18, Carnegie Hall celebrates families with an interactive Fall Family Weekend in the Resnick Education Wing. During this free musical extravaganza, with activities ongoing from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day, kids and grownups alike can participate in songwriting workshops, create and play their own instruments, join in sing-alongs, listen to musical stories, and explore a digital music playground. Both days will also feature performances in the Weill Music Room by Carnegie Kids performers Sbongiseni Duma at 11:00 a.m., Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower at 12:30 p.m., and Shine and the Moonbeams at 2:00 p.m. Please note: reservations for the Fall Family Weekend are currently full, but additional guests will be admitted as capacity allows via a standby line.
