Kelly Willis' new album Back Being Blue is out May 18 on Premium Records/Thirty Tigers. The title track for the Americana standout's forthcoming album premieres withRolling Stone Country. Additionally, on April 19 Willis begins her much anticipated North American tour.

'Pick Me Up' is an autobiographical song written from the point of view of a newly wedded woman who's so depressed about being broke in the wake of her honeymoon that she wishes there was some kind of buzz she could get that would last until payday. It's been nearly 20 years since Lucinda Williams melded roots, rock and country into the Grammy-winning classic Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. For the album's anniversary, Jimbo Mathus (Squirrel Nut Zippers) took on the challenge of interpreting it on solo blues guitar for Solo Sounds. As described by Mathus, This one is my favorite so far. Solo blues guitar with no vocals, no overdubs, in super hi-res sound quality. These are really hard to do but very cool to listen to. Listen to the album here.
