TheatreZone will present a "Broadway & Happy Hour" cabaret featuring the cast of its current show, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14 "outside the Zone" at the Moorings Park's auditorium, 120 Moorings Park Drive in Naples.

Bells Are Ringing has a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and music by Jule Styne. It starred Judy Holliday was directed by Jerome Robbins and choreographed by Robbins and Bob Fosse. It opened in 1956 and ran for nearly three years. The 1960 movie starred Judy Holliday and Dean Martin.

Ford's Theatre's must-see production is raw and gripping in its emotional intensity. Led by Craig Wallace's powerhouse performance as Willy Loman, Miller's Pulitzer Prize winning play is as relevant now, maybe more so, in its questioning of the American dream as it was when it first opened.

Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault today announced the Ford's Theatre 2017-2018 season will include Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman directed by Stephen Rayne; the American premiere of Jefferson's Garden by Timberlake Wertenbaker and directed by Nataki Garrett; the fantastical musical The Wiz directed by Kent Gash; and A Christmas Carol with Craig Wallace reprising the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.         

?Partly inspired by the 1999 shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado, The Library focuses on the aftermath of a deadly school shooting. Far from being a one-sided play about gun control or religion, Burns' focus lands squarely on the media, the community, and society at large and the way that we take hold of a story in the wake of a catastrophic event. In its review of Burns' play, TheaterMania.com said, 'Scott Z. Burns delivers a smart and probing drama with an aggressive calmness. You'll leave The Library angry for all the right reasons.'

Monday night was the third performance of a four-show Don't Tell Mama run of Watts' new show Shameless (the next one is on 10/19), directed by Richard Sabellico, who hired Watts for his first theater role after seeing him perform in cabaret. How, I wondered, would Lennie Watts follow his ballsy, 2013 MAC award-winning show, Bloody Bloody Lennie Watts!? Apparently by offering another rambunctious, personal evening, this one straddling the worlds of cabaret and theater. Self-described as "the most shameless, self aggrandizing show cabaret has ever seen" (a moot point) and "an extended audition" (not moot), the piece is custom tailored and beautifully put together, but ultimately achieves mixed results. 

Mary Todd Lincoln, the wife of President Abraham Lincoln, is the subject of a new play which premieres this month, marking 150 years since the President's assassination. Ford's Theatre, the site of the crime that took the civil rights legend from us, has commissioned playwright James Still to capture a moment in time which very little is known about.

The Ford's Theatre Society 2014-2015 season continues with the world premiere drama The Widow Lincoln, by James Still and directed by Stephen Rayne. The production features Mary Bacon in the title role. The Widow Lincoln plays January 23 through February 22, 2015 at the historic Ford's Theatre (511 Tenth Street NW, Washington, D.C.). Ford's Theatre commissioned this world premiere as part of Ford's 150: Remembering the Lincoln Assassination, a series of events marking the 150 years since Abraham Lincoln's assassination at Ford's Theatre.

This production will leave the audience deeply moved and full of respect for what our armed forces go through during and after their terms of duty.

Sydney Theatre Company and the Australian Defence Force present The Long Way Home in its Melbourne premiere. The show, by Daniel Keene, will run today 27 to 29 March 2014 at the Merlyn Theatre, The Coopers Malthouse.

Tetreault today announced that the Ford's Theatre 2014-2015 season will include mainstage productions of Driving Miss Daisy, headlined by Nancy Robinette and Craig Wallace, the return of Edward Gero as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, the world premiere of The Widow Lincoln by James Still, and a new musical, Freedom's Song, still in development, inspired by the words of Lincoln and those who lived through the Civil War.
