Memory Play ORANGE JULIUS Begins Previews Next Week Off-Broadway

A friendly reminder! Previews begin next week, January 10, at 8:00pm for Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and Page 73's New York premiere of Basil Kreimendahl's memory play about a transmasculine child and their dying Vietnam vet father. Orange Julius, directed by Dustin Wills, will run at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place, and opens Sunday, January 22, at 8:00pm.

Rehearsals have begun for Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and Page 73 presentation of the New York premiere of Basil Kreimendahl's memory play about a transmasculine child and their dying Vietnam vet father, Orange Julius, directed by Dustin Wills. The producion starred Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA and Tony Award nominee Chris O'Dowd, Leighton Meester, and Tony and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton. Directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro, Of Mice and Men was the first 'hit' of the spring, recouping its $3.8 million capitalization in only twelve weeks. The critically acclaimed production originally opened on Wednesday, April 16, at Broadway's Longacre Theatre (220 West 48 Street).

Shapiro and starring Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA and Tony Award nominee Chris O'Dowd, Leighton Meester and Tony and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton, recouped its $3.8 million capitalization in just twelve weeks, making it the first of the spring to do so. The critically acclaimed production which opened on Wednesday, April 16 and is now in its final seven weeks on Broadway, shattered the house record at the Longacre Theatre and is the first Broadway production of the spring season to recoup its initial investment. The strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Broadway's Longacre Theatre (220 West 48 Street).

VIDEO: 9 Circus Acrobats Injured Due to Snapping Cable

Eleven people were injured during a Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey circus performance in Rhode Island. Nine are acrobats who were performing the stunt and the other two are unknown. The acrobats were performing a stunt mid-air when a cable snapped, causing the apparatus to plummet to the ground.
