Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announces key casting for three highly anticipated productions of its 48th season. Tony and Academy Award winner Frances McDormand will star in Macbeth, actor Steven Epp will make his seventh Berkeley Rep appearance in Treasure Island, and award-winning actress Kathleen Chalfant will play the lead role in the West Coast premiere of For Peter Pan on her 70th birthday. The Theatre previously announced the casting of award-winning British actress Samantha Barks in the title role in the world premiere of Amélie, A New Musical, set to begin its run in August. Nat Sweeney, 12 years old from Birmingham, will make his West End stage debut this evening (3 July 2015) when he becomes the forty-first boy to play the title role in the iconic British musical Billy Elliot the Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre. Now in its eleventh year in the West End, the show recently extended booking at the Victoria Palace Theatre until 17 December 2016. In addition, the first UK and Ireland tour of Billy Elliot the Musical begins in February 2016 with tickets now on sale for performances at the Theatre Royal Plymouth. (more...)

Following successful runs at the Ustinov Studio in Bath and the Tricycle Theatre in London, Theatre Royal Bath Productions and the Tricycle Theatre will transfer Florian Zeller's Moliere award-winning play, THE FATHER, starring Kenneth Cranham and Claire Skinner, to London's Wyndham's Theatre for a limited season, Wednesday 30th September - Saturday 21st November. In the two weeks prior to the transfer, the production will play a very limited run at Cambridge Arts Theatre, 15th - 26th September. (more...)

A cast of six will lead a reading of the Broadway-bound WHAT WOMEN DO (and men too) written by playwright and Broadway performer William Youmans and directed by Don Stephenson. The new play is a battle-of-the-sexes farce set in New York City. The reading, which is being produced by The Resonance Ensemble, takes place on Tuesday July 7, 2015 at 7:00 p.m at the Manhattan Theatre Club Studios (311 W 43rd Street 8th Floor) and is open to the public.  (more...)

Stephen Daldry's hit production of Peter Morgan's The Audience will complete its run at the Apollo Theatre on 25 July 2015 as previously announced.  The production, starringKristin Scott Thomas as The Queen, opened in May to critical acclaim. The Audience - a play about the weekly meeting between the Queen and her Prime Ministers - has designs by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby.
