3-D Theatricals' production of 9 to 5: The Musical plays now through February 24th, 2013 at The Plummer Auditorium, followed by a run at Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, March 1st-3rd. The Blank Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival is seeking submissions nationwide from playwrights 19 years of age and younger. The submission deadline is March 15, 2013. Winning plays will be presented by professional actors and directors in June, 2013 at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood, CA.

TRIASSIC PARQ -THE MUSICAL opens tonight, January 30 and Thursday, January 31 and will continue through Sunday, February 24 at Chance Theater, 5552 E. La Palma Ave. in Anaheim Hills.

Theatre of NOTE has announced the 18th Annual Hollywood Performance Marathon, today, January 19 beginning at 3pm and continuing until dawn, at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd. (just North of Sunset) in Hollywood.

With the recent success of competition programs such as American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance and, of course, Dancing With The Stars, competitions such as the now successful Stage LA's Next Great Star have caught the attention of many a young hopeful. Although the first of the 6 week competition has passed, the competition has five more weeks of competitive talent lined up. The producers have just announced the complete line up of celebrated judges for the reamaining dates of Jan 13, 20, 27 and Feb 3 adn 10 (below).

Legendary performer Diana Ross, Smash star Megan Hilty, chart-topping recording star Demi Lovato, The Voice favorite Chris Mann and American Idol winner Scotty McCreery are set to ring in the holiday season as they come together in the nation's capital for TNT's annual CHRISTMAS IN WASHINGTON special. In addition, the concert will close with a special performance by 'Gangnam Style' sensation PSY.

Move over Grinch... Santa Claus is back in town! Tonight, December 20 through Sunday, December 23, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and the big jolly man himself reunite with the spectacular Rubicon Family Christmas cast for a joyous celebration at the Ventura College Theatre for seven performances only. The stellar cast includes Joan Almedilla, Teri Bibb, Dina Bennett, Trey Ellett, Anthony Manough and Brian Sutherland, who have starred on Broadway in such shows as Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, Miss Saigon, 1776 and Rent, among others. Two celebrated Pasadena-based theatres, A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, and The Theatre @ Boston Court, an award-winning theatre committed to inherently theatrical new works, received Mid-Size BEST (Building Excellence in Small Theatres) Awards from The Sheri and Les Biller Family Foundation at the recent LA Stage Alliance Ovation Awards. The awards, which vary in amounts between $10,000 and $25,000, provide general operating support to non-profit organizations with revenues between $850,000 and $3,000,000.

Paul Garman, Executive Director/Producer, has announced that Davis Gaines (LA's PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, MTW's MAN OF LA MANCHA & MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT) will make his Los Angeles-area directorial debut for the upcoming MTW production of OKLAHOMA!, which will preview on February 15 and run for 12 performances through March 3, 2013. OKLAHOMA!, as with all Musical Theatre West productions, is created from the ground up at its rehearsal studios in Long Beach using a blend of both professional actors from Broadway, Hollywood and national tours, and the best in local talent.
