Two of the most prevalent themes in Ed Thomas' new play, On Bear Ridge, are memories and language. Set atop a mountain in a rural location, presumably somewhere in Wales, butcher John Daniel (Rhys Ifans), his wife Noni (Rakie Ayola) and slaughterman Ifan William (Sion Daniel Young) are bunkering down in their run-down shop while the snow builds higher outside the front door.

Casting is today announced for the National Theatre Wales and Royal Court Theatre co-production of On Bear Ridge by award-winning writer Ed Thomas (House of America and Gas Station Angel, Royal Court; HinterlandY Gwyll BBCS4CNetflix). Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone (The Cane and Cyprus Avenue, Royal Court) and Ed Thomas will co-direct this semi-autobiographical story about the places we leave behind, the indelible marks they make on us, and the unreliable memories we hold onto.

Part of the inaugural season at the Bridge Theatre, Laurie Sansom directs Nightfall. An exquisite exploration into grief, anxiety and change, Barney Norris' new play is an introspective character study and one which plays as such.

Barney Norris' Nightfall, directed by Laurie Sansom and starring Ophelia Lovibond (Lou), Ukweli Roach (Pete), Claire Skinner (Jenny) and Sion Daniel Young(Ryan) continues at the Bridge Theatre booking to 26 May 2018. For this world premiere Nightfall has designs by Rae Smith, lighting by Chris Davey and sound byChristopher Shutt with music composed by Gareth Williams.

Bestselling novelist and award winning playwright Barney Norris brings his new play Nightfall to the Bridge Theatre. Speaking to us during rehearsals, Barney takes us through the process of mounting a new play in a new space, as part of the theatre's inaugural season.

The world premiere of Barney Norris' Nightfall, directed by Laurie Sansom, starring Ophelia Lovibond (Lou), Ukweli Roach (Pete), Claire Skinner (Jenny) and Sion Daniel Young (Ryan) will run at the Bridge Theatre from 28 April - 26 May 2018, with press night on 8 May 2018. Designed by Rae Smith, Nightfall will have lighting by Chris Davey, sound by Christopher Shutt with music composed by Gareth Williams.

Laurie Sansom will direct Ophelia Lovibond (Lou), Ukweli Roach (Pete) and Sion Daniel Young (Ryan) in the world premiere of Barney Norris's Nightfall running at the Bridge Theatre from 28 April 3 June 2018, with press night on 8 May 2018. Final casting will be announced shortly.

Sean Gleeson, Richard Mylan and Sion Daniel Young will play the three roles in Gary Owen's new play Killology, a co-production between the Royal Court Theatre London and Sherman Theatre, Cardiff.

The National Theatre's production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has welcomed a new cast to the West End production, and last night (30 June 2015) held a special gala performance with celebrity V.I.P. guests at the Gielgud Theatre.  Last month the play was one of the big winners at the Tony Awards® in New York, winning 5 awards including Best New Play. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time recently extended booking in London, releasing over 120,000 tickets and is now booking until 13 February 2016.

The National Theatre's acclaimed production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will welcome a new company next month with Sion Daniel Young joining the cast to play the lead role of Christopher Boone.  Based on Mark Haddon's award-winning novel and adapted by Simon Stephens, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is currently booking in the West End until 24 October 2015.  Rehearsals began today with the new Company who will begin performances at the Gielgud Theatre on 22 June 2015. 

On 21 January 2014, The National Theatre's internationally acclaimed award-winning stage production of War Horse celebrates its 2000th West End performance. The celebrations began with Joey, the equine star of War Horse, visiting the iconic London landmark, the EDF Energy London Eye, where he enjoyed views across the capital, including the National Theatre where he made his first appearance back in October 2007.
