Second Stage Theatre welcomes film star Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Dear John, Mamma Mia!, upcoming Ted 2 and Pan) in her off-Broadway debut opposite Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom, Wild, upcoming in NBC's The Slap) in the world premiere production of NEIL LaBUTE's drama, The Way We Get By. Directed by Tony nominee LEIGH SILVERMAN, the production begins previews tonight, April 28, 2015 and officially opens on May 20, 2015 at Second Stage Theatre, 305 West 43rd Street.

Signature Theatre presents What I Did Last Summer, written by A.R. Gurney and directed by Jim Simpson. The production runs tonight, April 28 to June 7 with a May 17 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

On April 20, 2015, Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress Debra Monk joined Brynn O'Malley, Claybourne Elder and Donna Migliaccio to honor renowned Stephen Sondheim collaborator James Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Passion). Check out photos from the evening below!

Theatre Development Fund, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, will honor three of the organization's "Unsung Heroes" - Ted Chapin, Jeffrey Gural and Robert Zukerman at TDF's Gala on Monday, June 15 at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).  TDF is honoring these "heroes," as they have assisted the organization in fulfilling its mission of supporting works of artistic merit and helping to make theatre accessible to all.

The 'DRessed as A Girl' episode of The Ensemblist features interviews with three male actors who have played roles on Broadway outside their own gender identity: one a woman, one a drag queen, and one a transwoman.

Signature Theatre has announced the cast of Cabaret, the Tony Award-winning musical, directed and choreographed by Signature Associate Artistic Director Matthew Gardiner(Signature's Sunday in the Park with George, Dreamgirls). Signature Theatre has announced a one week extension for the world premiere of The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek, written and directed by Athol Fugard. The production begins performances on April 21 and will now run through June 7 with a May 11 opening night in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

The New Group has announced that Marin Ireland and Amanda Seyfried will join original cast members from the company's critically-acclaimed 2005 hit revival of Hurlyburly: Bobby Cannavale, Josh Hamilton, Ethan Hawke, Parker Posey and Wallace Shawn, in the previously announced one-night-only benefit reading of David Rabe's award-winning play. Directed by Scott Elliott, this benefit reading within The New Group's current 20th Anniversary Season takes place Sunday, April 26 at The New Group at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

Elitch Gardens, now in its 21st year downtown since relocating from northwest Denver, remains one of Colorado's the most popular entertainment destinations. It now features a vast array of modern roller-coasters, and because many of 'The 12' cast members from the DCPA Theatre Company are thrill-ride aficionados, the staff at Elitch's invited cast members Tuesday to ride the famous Carousel, which dates back to 1927 - and two coaster rides: The Brain Drain and the Boomerang. The winners of the 2015 New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards will be announced Monday, May 4,2015 at 6pm. The selections will be made at the organization's 80th annual voting meeting, at the offices of Time Out New York in Manhattan.

New plays by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel and the actor and playwright Colman Domingo will be produced by the Vineyard Theatre during 2015-16 season, it has been announced by Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern. The new musical comedy Something Rotten!, directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), with music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe Award nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and best-selling author John O'Farrell, officially opens on Broadway tonight, April 22, 2015 at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street).
