Kitchen Theatre Company's 2022-2023 Season will finish with the same show that will kick off the 2023 Hangar Theatre's 2023 Summer Mainstage Series.

The long-established Hangar Theatre Company in Cass Park and Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca's West End are working together this May and June to produce the extraordinarily prescient and insightful play WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME by Heidi Schreck. 

The Hangar Theatre has announced a 3-show mainstage lineup for the 2023 Summer Season, featuring uplifting and timely stories that illuminate artistic passion, family, and the resilience of the human spirit.

The Hangar Theater will present Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812.  After recent success off-broadway, this regional premiere of Dave Malloy's re-imagined love story from the heart of War and Peace will dazzle Hangar audiences underneath the newly covered Hangar Outdoor Stage.  

The Drama League  and Hangar Theatre jointly announced today the First Annual FutureNow Festival, a new iteration of the Hangar's Wedge Series that centers directors, actors, and designers on the rise, presented by the Hangar Theatre.

The Hangar Theater has announced the upcoming production of Cabaret.  One of the most successful stage productions of all time, with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by Joe Masteroff, Cabaret tells the story of the Kit Kat Club's  provocative performers, curious audience members, and mysterious Master of Ceremonies during the dawning of the Nazi era in Berlin, Germany.

The Hangar Theater has announced the beginning of the 2022 Mainstage Season with the regional premiere of School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play. 

The Hangar Theatre has announced the first ever Hangar Flight Test, a series of concert stagings of original musicals in development.  The 2022 series will consist of two workshop productions which Hangar audiences will be among the first to experience.  Writers and artistic teams will invite audiences to give feedback and become part of the development process as they prepare their scripts and scores for full scale production.

The Hangar Theatre has announced its TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) 2022 KIDDSTUFF Summer Season! This year KIDDSTUFF productions will take place outdoors under a re-imagined canopied stage.  Hangar outdoor performances were incredibly popular with young audiences and their families during the 2021 season.

As the Hangar Theatre enters its 48th year as a nationally recognized summer-producing regional theatre, we are thrilled to announce that the program previously known as the Hangar Lab Company is undergoing an exciting and essential transformation. Programs that center experiential learning have long been central to the Hangar’s mission.

The Hangar Theatre welcomes you back to their Outdoor Stage (in a heated, open-sided tent) for Night of The Living Musicals, Saturday October 23rd from 3-5 PM!

The Hangar Theatre's first ever outdoor summer season closes with An Odyssey, a co-production with The Cherry Arts, running August 27-September 4, 2021.

In this dynamic solo show, Jasmine M. Rush (she/her) plays Jacqueline Marie Butler, a Black teenager coming of age in the 1960s, whose joys, challenges, and heartbreak play out against the backdrop of the civil rights movement.

The opening performance of Sweeney Todd by Hugh Wheeler with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim will begin Friday, July 23 at 7:30 PM. A preview performance will precede the opening on July 22 at 7:30 PM; matinee and evening performances will run through Saturday, August 7. The Hangar's opening performance of Once by Enda Walsh with music and lyrics by Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová will begin July 2th at 7:30 pm, continuing the Hangar's 2021 Outdoor Mainstage season! A preview performance will precede the opening on July 1 at 7:30 pm; matinee and evening performances will run through Saturday, July 17. 

The Hangar's opening performance of The REALNESS: another break beat play by Idris Goodwin will begin June 18th at 7:30 PM, kicking off the Hangar's 2021 Outdoor Mainstage season! A preview performance will precede opening, on June 17 at 7:30 P.M. Matinee and evening performances will run through Saturday, June 26.

The Hangar Theatre has just announced the stars of its upcoming Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The production will feature Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star Donna Lynne Champlin as Mrs. Lovett and BroadwayWorld's own Nik Walker (The Chaos Twins) as Sweeney Todd.

The Tompkins Chamber is hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Tompkins Trust Company Stage at the Hangar Theatre at 801 Taughannock Blvd. The event will be held on Thursday, June 17, at 4:30 PM, and is open to the public.
