BET Networks announces Season 2 of hit series THE QUAD, starring Tony Award winners Anika Noni Rose and Ruben Santiago-Hudson. Premiering Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 10 P.M. ET/PT on BET, the new season also sees the return of stars Peyton Alex Smith, Jazz Raycole, Zoe Renee, Jake Allyn, Michelle DeFraites and Sean Blakemore.

As it bids farewell to its home of 11 years, the Metropolitan Room will present 24 continuous hours of free-wheeling entertainment -- from Sunday September 24 at 9pm, to Monday September 25 at 9pm. Featuring a mind-boggling 144 individual acts, with over a dozen emcees, and a battalion of musicians, technicians and hangers-on, the Metropolitan Room's 3rd annual Cabaret Marathon Extravaganza It's a Tradition was spawned by the Metropolitan Room's first record-setting (60-hour) entertainment marathon in January 2015. That massive undertaking shattered the Guinness World Record for longest variety show ever.

Back in the day when I was a mere fledgling musical theater geek I was introduced to the show 'Dreamgirls'. You might say this was my gateway cast album that put me on the path toward the musical addict I am today as I practically wore out the CD. So you'll understand if I'm a little picky about this show. I mean, how could someone live up to the magic of Jennifer Holliday, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Loretta Devine? Since then I've seen a few productions that have all been OK but never got me there until now. And true, you can't ever really compare with the originals but the current production from Village Theatre does a mighty fine job.
