The 2014 Jazz at the Bowl Series begins tonight, July 9, 2014 as The Count Basie Orchestra and special guests celebrate the music of Ella Fitzgerald. The series also features, among others, Boz Scaggs, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Herbie Hancock, a Christian McBride-directed James Brown Celebration, John Legend recreating Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, Peter Frampton, Marcus Miller, and more. The season marks Herbie Hancock's fifth year as Creative Chair for Jazz.

Fresh from the hit movie "Think Like A Man Too", super talented singer, actor Terrell Carter is set to star in the much anticipated adaptation of Andrionna Williams award-winning novel "In-Laws From Hell" which has been transformed into a Musical Stage Play. In-Laws From Hell is produced by Williams and is slated to open August 9, 2014 for a one night only special performance in Los Angeles at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre to kick off the 2014 tour.

Such was the case in 1978 when Prince tapped Sheila E. to record on the Purple Rain album, where she lent vocals to 'Let's Go Crazy' and 'Erotic City'. From there on out, their musical lives have often been intertwined. On her own, Sheila E's R&B and jazz-fusion roots have solidified her in the annals of rock history as a dynamic singer/songwriter, percussionist and drummer. This amazing artist will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, June 1, at 8 p.m. performing from her songbook, which includes 'The Glamorous Life', 'A Love Bizarre' and the 'We Are the World' session. Her latest record Icon (March 2014) features catchy hooks, dynamic percussive performances and even a collaboration with Prince.

World-class drummer and percussionist Sheila Escovedo's first CD in 13 years, ICON, is available today at all major digital stores.
