Sharon Stone to Be Honored With Stanley Kramer 'Social Artist' Award at 2013 Catalina Film Festival, 9/18

Catalina Film Festival (CFF) today announced that famed actress Sharon Stone will be honored at this year's festival with the Inaugural Stanley Kramer 'Social Artist' award. The award honors a film professional whose work embodies Stanley Kramer's qualities of social consciousness within their artistry while taking risks to create and influence a social transformation. The Festival, spanning five days of films, parties and celebrity attendees will be held Sept. 18-22, 2013 on the famed Catalina Island. Stone will received the award during a ceremony on the Island, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.

The Pasadena Playhouse, announced today that it will add four additional performances of Val Kilmer in CITIZEN TWAIN to its limited engagement. Val Kilmer, famous for his portrayals of iconic characters such as Jim Morrison (The Doors), Doc Holliday (Tombstone) and Batman (Batman Forever), inhabits the spirit of legendary American figure Mark Twain in his acclaimed one-man show CITIZEN TWAIN. Exploring the famed author's wry humor - from politics to death, love to money, racism, cats and everything in between - Val Kilmer reveals the wit and wisdom of the man considered to be America's greatest storyteller and first stand-up comedian. Kilmer continues to develop CITIZEN TWAIN, a solo show, with this now nine-show engagement, that will play August 21 through August 30, 2013, at The Pasadena Playhouse.

Val Kilmer, famous for his portrayals of iconic characters such as Jim Morrison (The Doors), Doc Holliday (Tombstone) and Batman (Batman Forever), inhabits the spirit of yet another legendary figure: Mark Twain. Kilmer continues to develop CITIZEN TWAIN, a solo show about the man considered to be the world's greatest storyteller, with this five performance extension at The Playhouse, August 21 - 24, 2013. Hot on the heels of AIDS research foundation amfAR's recent Cinema against AIDS party, the Inspiration Gala New York 2013 was held on the evening of Thursday, June 13th at the landmark luxury Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue. Alan Cumming hosted the event which was produced by Josh Wood Productions. The evening was presented by M.A.C Viva Glam, which also acted as sponsor, along with Microsoft, Ketel One Vodka and Plaza Hotels.
