Majestic Repertory Theatre is proud to present the world premiere of Bigfoot, The Musical by Amber Ruffin (Late Night with Seth Myers and Comedy Central's Drunk History), Kevin Sciretta (iO Chicago), and David Schmoll (The Second City). The musical comedy offers the origination story of America's most famous mythological creature. It is directed by Troy Heard (Awarded Best Director by Desert Companion Magazine, 2012, 2014 & 2018 and Las Vegas Review-Journal, 2012) and will run at Majestic Repertory Theatre, June 28 - July 15, 2018. The series will also feature interviews with celebrities, authors, superfans and everyday Americans discussing the way particular books have influenced them and their significance in American popular culture. Then, after a multi-platform initiative throughout the summer, which will include live public events, social media components and national reading clubs, the series will resume in the fall with several themed episodes, including an exciting finale, culminating in the first-ever national vote to choose 'America's Best-Loved Novel.' It will be the most expansive national celebration of books and reading aimed at engaging multi-generational readers across multiple platforms ever created.

The Muny announced today that Emmy and Writers Guild Award-nominated Amber Ruffin will provide new material for the script of The Muny's production of The Wiz, June 19 - 25. Ruffin has been working with The Wiz's original book writer, William F. Brown, on The Muny production, with the full support of Charles Michael Smalls, son of The Wiz composer Charlie Smalls.
