Wolf Trap and Signature Theatre’s yearly collaboration continued this past weekend with the third edition of Broadway in The Park. A concert that is meant to showcase some of our best and brightest talent while also featuring two headliners from Broadway. The event is always a good time and this year’s edition was no exception.

Hang on to your big hair and take a trip back to the 1960’s with the current US touring company of the Tony Award winning musical Hairspray playing through this Sunday at the National Theatre.

Jenna Leigh Green is most known to television audiences as Sabrina Spellman's nemesis Libby Chessler on three seasons of the hit ABC sitcom 'Sabrina, The Teenage Witch.' She played the role of Heather in the Touchstone Pictures release 'You Again' opposite Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Betty White. Ms. Green also recently appeared opposite James Franco in the film 'I Am Michael.'

Eva and Valentina Zazzali, will be performing with Broadway, TV & film's top talent this Sunday, July 23 at 9:30pm, singing 'I Know It's Today' from Shrek the Musical with Rozi Baker (Shrek, Mary Poppins, Bonnie & Clyde) in Tim Realbuto & Friends Sing Jeanine Tesori at Feinstein's/54 Below.

Yup... you can't stop the motion of the ocean or the rain from above, and you definitely can't stop the influx of tweets that will no doubt be pouring in throughout the duration of the live show! As has become an annual tradition, everyone will presumably throw in their two cents and chime in on the action via Twitter.... and Broadway's best and brightest are certainly no exception!

Today, Marissa Jaret Winokur shares her fondest memories from the show and explains why HAIRSPRAY is 'the gift that keeps on giving!'

When New York cabaret community insiders and frequent club goers heard that Marissa Mulder was planning a Marilyn Monroe-themed show, the consensus was the vocalist's naturally breathy voice paired with a roster of songs from Monroe's films would be a good fit. Sidestepping expectations, Mulder and Director Sondra Lee have instead put together a one-woman theater piece with almost as much monologue (using Monroe's own words) as music. Equally surprising, the impressionistic show (currently in the midst of a four-show run at the Laurie Beechman Theatre after launching in February at the Metropolitan Room) features not Monroe's familiar material, but rather songs that reflect what its creators intuit as her internal life.

Tisch New Theatre will present HAIRSPRAY, the musical based on the 1988 film written and directed by John Waters, April 1-4 at the NYU Skirball Center. With music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman, and a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, HAIRSPRAY the musical premiered on Broadway in 2002 and won eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she launches an ambitious campaign to integrate the show. HAIRSPRAY focuses on civil rights, the beauty of diversity and individuality, and acts as a beacon of hope and inclusiveness in the theatre world and beyond.
