While construction continues and St. Ann's works to raise the final $2 million of its $30 million capital campaign, the organization will present a stellar final season in its temporary home at 29 Jay Street in DUMBO. It kicks off this October when TR Warszawa and director Grzegorz Jarzyna return for the American Premiere of their internationally acclaimed production of Sarah Kane's 4:48 Psychosis, which St. Ann's Founder / Artistic Director Susan Feldman has wanted to bring to New York since she first saw it in February 2004 -- the same year St. Ann's presented the American Premiere of the original Royal Court production of Kane's play. St. Ann's Warehouse also announced the following season highlights today: Emma Rice and Kneehigh, The Wooster Group, the Slovenian choral group Carmina Slovenica, and The Tiger Lillies. (more...)

Soho Rep. Meets Fundraising Goal Following Cancelled Gala

On March 31, 300 friends, artists and supporters gathered to celebrate and honor Soho Rep.'s Board Chair Jon Dembrow at their annual spring gala. Forty-five minutes into the evening, the beam supporting a second-story balcony at the event venue, Angel Orensanz Center, cracked. The building was deemed unsafe and all the guests were evacuated by the FDNY. The cancellation of the event and on-site auction left Soho Rep. with a projected end-of-the-fiscal-year deficit of $68,000. (more...)

MCC Theater has announced the extension of the American premiere of Penelope Skinner's celebrated play The Village Bike, starring indie film actress Greta Gerwig, and featuring direction by Sam Gold. The production is now scheduled at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) through Sunday, July 13, 2014. It was previously scheduled through June 28th.
