SHOWTIME has released the official trailer for the fifth and final season of the critically acclaimed, Golden Globe®-winning SHOWTIME drama series THE AFFAIR. Premiering on Sunday, August 25 at 9 p.m. ETPT, the series stars Golden Globe nominee Dominic West, Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney and Sanaa Lathan. Created by WGA Award-winning playwright, writer, executive producer and showrunner Sarah Treem (House of Cards, In Treatment), the series explores the emotional and psychological effects of an affair that destroyed two marriages, and the crime that brings these individuals back together. Oscar® and Golden Globe winner Anna Paquin (True Blood) joined the final season as a series regular. THE AFFAIR is also executive produced by Jessica Rhoades (Sharp Objects), Hagai Levi (In Treatment) and Michele Giordono (Nurse Jackie).

Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein today announced the appointment of Travis LeMont Ballenger as Associate Artistic Director. The Globe will have two people in this key position, as Ballenger joins Associate Artistic Director Justin Waldman, who has been at the Globe since 2011. Ballenger and Waldman will report jointly to Edelstein. Ballenger will assume his artistic duties at The Old Globe on May 1.

Casting has been set for Old Jews Telling Jokes at the Colony Theatre in Burbank, it was announced today by producers Philip Roger Roy and Playhouse Productions, Inc. The visiting production at the Colony is set to open on Thursday, April 25, at 8pm, and the engagement will continue through Sunday, June 16.

Next up in Town Hall Theatre's staged reading series IN THE WINGS is a one-night only reading of UNCANNY VALLEY, a riveting new play about artificial intelligence and ethical quandaries by Thomas Gibbons, directed by Lana Palmer. Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is in talks to executive produce and star in a limited series about film actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr, according to Deadline. The Affair co-creator/executive producer Sarah Treem, co-creator and executive producer of The Affair, is in talks to write the series.
