On April 2-4, the Houston Symphony celebrates the iconic pop music of the United Kingdom in U.K. Rocks.

Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly leads the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in performances of Singin' in the Rain,Thursday, March 26, at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore and Friday, March 27, at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 28, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 29, at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Ranked by the American Film Institute (AFI) as the No. 1 movie musical of all time, Singin' in the Rain stars Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds, and features a lighthearted portrayal of iconic dance and memorable songs, including "Make 'em Laugh," "Fit as a Fiddle" and more. (January 12, 2015) — The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly will lead the BSO SuperPops in a concert featuring actor and Broadway star Jason Alexander, Thursday, January 22 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore, and on Friday, January 23 at 8 p.m., Saturday January 24 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 25 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. Best known for his iconic portrayal of George Costanza on the hit series “Seinfeld,” Alexander first had a successful and lengthy Broadway career. He was also the band leader and singer for Merv Griffin's “Coconut Club” at The Beverly Hilton before creating his hit musical comedy, “Mickey Swingerhead and The Earthgirls” and the 18-piece Atomic Big Band featured in the film “Poseidon.” Now taking orchestras by storm in cities across America, Andrew joins the Symphony, led by Principal Pops Conductor Richard Kaufman, to recall the “good old days” when music was swinging, jazzy and always came with a Big Band.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) has confirmed that due a schedule conflict resulting from participation in an upcoming Broadway production, Mandy Patinkin has withdrawn from his engagement with the Orchestra, slated for January 22 at The Music Center at Strathmore and January 23-25, 2015 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. In his place, the BSO welcomes actor Jason Alexander, best known for his portrayal as George Costanza on the hit series 'Seinfeld,' in addition to his lengthy Broadway career. The perennial folk-country-rock favorite celebrates its 44th anniversary this year with nearly half a century of gold and platinum albums, chart-topping hits and a variety of genre-crossing tunes in its wake. The band's surreal, somewhat psychedelic lyrics, which were an anomaly in their genre, helped to define the new California soft-rock sound that grew out of the area's folk and pop. Founding members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell join the orchestra to perform such signature hits as “A Horse with No Name,” “Ventura Highway,” “You Can Do Magic,” “Lonely People,” “Sister Golden Hair,” “Tin Man” and more.
