Salford tenor Russell Watson is said to be soon taking on the role of Jean Valjean. In discussing the part with the Evening Standard, Watson stated, 'I went to see Cameron Mackintosh about doing LES MISERABLES. We've had a good chat about that. It's something I'd like to do. It would give me a huge amount of satisfaction to play a role like Valjean. I would do it in the West End, towards the end of 2014.'

Symphony Space opens its 2013-14 Music season with 'Kurt Weill on Broadway,' tonight, October 7 (8 pm) at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. This weekend, all roads lead to St. Louis as actors are headed there from all over the country to audition for the Muny's summer production of LES MISERABLES directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and with music direction by Kevin Stites.

Executive Producer Mike Isaacson announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for its 2013 Season, which opens on June 17 with Monty Python's Spamalot. 'This is a phenomenally talented group of artists, and I'm thrilled to be working with all of them. Last season our audience inspired us to take many risks and push ourselves far. These directors and choreographers are already working on ways to top last season's level of excitement and excellence.'

Music legend and original YES vocalist and songwriter Jon Anderson will be playing special one-off concert on August 8th at the Sadler's Wells Theater in London.

PBS announced today that A CAPITOL FOURTH dazzled audiences for a 32nd year. The star-studded celebration took the top spot of the night and averaged 6.3 million viewers (Nielsen Fast National data, 3.8 household rating).
