Mrs. Barbara D. Tober hosted the dress rehearsal for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Live Arts production, Bassline Fabulous: J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Vibrations with Machine Dazzle Thursday night at the Museum’s Vanderlyn Panorama in the American Wing (which depicts the palace and gardens of Versailles). 

The company hasn't visited The Kennedy Center for more than a decade. It's great to have it back with this charming Caribbean-inflected version of the Balanchine classic.

With a cast of over 100 and a live orchestra playing Tchaikovsky's famous score, MCB is thrilled to spread some holiday cheer at all three of its home venues in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach, beginning December 10 through December 30, 2021.

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) presents the nineteenth edition of LOOT: MAD About Jewelry, its annual exhibition and sale of one-of-a-kind contemporary jewelry. Open to the public April 9 through April 13, following the Opening Benefit on April 8, LOOT 2019 showcases the work of fifty-five emerging and acclaimed international jewelry artists and designers, most of whom have never been shown in New York. The event provides the rare opportunity for collectors and jewelry enthusiasts to meet and acquire pieces from some of the most innovative creators in the field.

Exploring the breadth and depth of artistry within American ballet, the Kennedy Center's Ballet Across America series returns May 28-June 2 for seven performances in the Opera House. This season's engagement features deeper looks at companies led by distinguished Artistic Directors Virginia Johnson and Lourdes Lopez with their respective companies, Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) and Miami City Ballet (MCB). Each company will present a full program while a one-night-only celebration on May 31 features a shared program that includes both companies in a world premiere Kennedy Center commission by renowned choreographer Pam Tanowitz.

The Phantom of the Opera celebrated its unprecedented 30th Anniversary in New York City on January 26, 2018. Miami City Ballet has announced its 33rd season, showcasing the company's world-class artistry and rising prestige described by The New York Times as 'an exceptional troupe, by Balanchine standards, anywhere in the world.' Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez has curated a new season that includes the company premiere of Brahms/Handel, a unique choreographic collaboration between Twyla Tharp and Jerome Robbins; Paul Taylor's audience favorite Company B, set to the 1940s sounds of The Andrews Sisters; Jerome Robbins masterwork Dances at a Gathering; Justin Peck's Heatscape, inspired by the vibrant streets of Miami's Wynwood Arts District; and the highly anticipated return of George Balanchine's full-length A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Miami City Ballet's new redesign of the magical George Balanchine's The Nutcracker will feature enchanting new costumes and sets by the designer-artist power couple Isabel and Ruben Toledo, Balanchine's glorious choreography and Tchaikovsky's beloved score.

Honoring the legacy of Dorothy Buffum Chandler, the founder of The Music Center and a major pioneer of her time, The Music Center will award its Leadership Award to Walter F. Ulloa at The Music Center's Winter Soir e (Soir e) on December 7, 2017. The award salutes Los Angeles leaders who embody the values of The Music Center, including excellence, inclusion and innovation. California Secretary of State Alex Padilla will present the award to Ulloa, acknowledging Ulloa's achievements, which include the creation of a prominent global media company and his extraordinary contributions to the community.
