Today, Parents in Performing Arts (PIPA), a Consortium of 18 leading Industry organisations, announces its first major piece of work, a Best Practice Action Research Project. PIPA campaigns for equal opportunities and access to work for those with caring responsibilities.

Casting was announced today for the HighTide production of Al Smith's debut play Harrogate. Nigel Lindsay joins Sarah Ridgeway, who starred in the original production at HighTide Festival 2015, for the London premiere at the Royal Court Theatre from 20 - 29 October and UK Tour. Richard Twyman, the newly appointed Artistic Director of English Touring Theatre, returns to direct Harrogate, which had an acclaimed sell-out run at the influential annual HighTide Festival in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.  

Charlotte Hope (Myranda in Game of Thrones, Allied, A United Kingdom), Jack Fortune (King Lear, Route Irish, Sparkling Cyanide), Barnaby Kay (A Streetcar Named Desire, The Real Thing, Wuthering Heights) and Gary Shelford (Twelfth Night, Angry Young Man) join the previously announced multi award-winning, international star Ed Harris (forthcoming HBO series from J.J. Abrams & Jonathan Nolan; Westworld, Pollock, The Hours and The Truman Show), Golden Globe winner Amy Madigan (Twice in a Lifetime, Roe vs. Wade), and Jeremy Irvine (War Horse, The Railway Man, Now is Good) to complete the cast in Sam Shepard's Pulitzer & Obie prize winning play, Buried Child, following a critically acclaimed New York run earlier this year.

The Pearl Theatre Company will present the U.S. Premiere of Henrik Ibsen's Public Enemy in a version by internationally acclaimEd Scottish playwright David Harrower. Directed by the Pearl's Artistic Director Hal Brooks, the production will run from tonight, September 29, through October 29.

Francesca Annis, Ron Cook and Deborah Findlay have been cast in Lucy Kirkwood's new play The Children which runs in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs 17 November 2016 - 14 January 2017 with Press Night on Thursday 24 November. Directed by James Macdonald. With design by Miriam Buether and lighting design by Peter Mumford. "At our time of life, we simply cannot deal with this shit." 

Harry Enfield will play studio boss Herman Glogauer in Christopher Hart's adaptation of Kaufman and Hart's classic Hollywood comedy, Once in a Lifetime. Enfield is joined in the cast of Richard Jones' production by John Marquez as George and Claudie Blakley as May, with further casting still to be announced.

Umanism and Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at CUNY, in association with the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, present a reading of excerpts of Fausto Paravidino's I Vicini (Neighbors) as part of the Italian Playwrights Project Wednesday, September 21 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Italian Cultural Institute of New York (686 Park Avenue, between 68th and 69th Avenue).

Following a hugely successful 2015 Merseyside tour, Twopence to Cross the Mersey will now embark on its biggest tour to date, a unique tour that covers seven venues across England's North West and North Wales.

The highly anticipated Autumn 2016 tour of Helen Forrester's TWOPENCE TO CROSS THE MERSEY opens tonight 20 September and runs until 8 October 2016. The play returns to entertain larger audiences in Liverpool for three weeks at the popular Royal Court, which has undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment.

Full casting for the Bush Theatre's programme of six new, commissioned plays This Place We Know has been announced today. Residents of the local community are also now invited to submit photography celebrating W12, to be in with a chance of having their work displayed as part of WeAreW12, a free photography exhibition curated by photographer Eileen Perrier.

Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company will present the 20th year anniversary production of 'One Flea Spare' by Naomi Wallace, directed by Caitlin McLeod, Off-Broadway October 16 to November 13 at Sheen Center, 18 Bleecker Street. The production will feature Broadway vets Concetta Tomei, Gordon Joseph Weiss and Remy Zaken.

The International Centre for Women Playwrights (ICWP) is thrilled to report that a record-breaking number of recipients will receive the 2016 50/50 Applause Awards, which recognizes theatres that produced 50% or more women playwrights in their 2015/16 season of shows. ICWP defines 50/50 by the number of qualifying performances in a theatre's season. This allows a concrete measurement of the resources being devoted to women playwrights.

Rose Theatre Kingston today announced the full company for its new production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons. Award-winning Michael Rudman directs David Horovitch as Joe Keller and Penny Downie as Kate Keller with Alex Waldmann (Chris Keller), Grace Carter (Lydia Lubey), Edward Harrison (George Deever), William Meredith (Frank Lubey), Alison Pargeter (Sue Bayliss), David Partridge (Jim Bayliss) and Francesca Zoutewelle (Ann Deever). The production opens on 2 November, with previews from 28 October, and runs until 19 November.

Transferring from its critically acclaimed sell-out run at the Finborough Theatre earlier this year where it was nominated for seven OffWestEnd Awards including Best New Play, Best Male Performance, and Best Director, the world premiere production of It Is Easy To Be Dead by Neil McPherson opens at Trafalgar Studio 2, for a strictly limited four week limited season.
